Don't want to burst your bubble, but this is probably the 20th or so "Darkbasic Website" to be announced this year.

You need a unique selling point. We already have a forum, chatroom, codebase, dev diaries, product info, and stacks more.

Take a look at the site made by Jessticular and ect. They created an online reference site which everyone can add to. It is truly unique.

Sorry to say but...

[x] I dislike the design
[x] I dislike the javascript(alot)
[x] Hit Counter is tacky
[x] As of now, it offers nothing new
[x] Its a freeweb page meaning ads
[x] The codebase is too big and unclean
[x] Chatroom is tacky
[x] It seems to be just another useless website that offers nothing to the community

Sorry to be harsh, but this is what I see.

"Dark Basic rocks! Although the things you can do are not as dynamic as C++, just think how long it would take to do the same thing! I can get FPS of over 60!"

Well, since the design was automaticly generated by Freewebs, nothing to comment on here.

Since the site is under construction, nothing to say there either.

Codebase doesn't contain anything.

Usless site.

The future is here, and I can't afford it.

No...

A) It's freewebs, pre-installed template that you choose from.
B) It looks rather like a personal website
C) Music? I mean? Come on!

I really could go on forever but I won't.

Unlike all the other users posting nagative things, (Lets face it their jelouse )

I will give you the credit, for trying to start/create something new, different, I always like seeing people try to create something!

If you are a total noob with web-design, FreeWebs is the way to go, if you ever get the hang of coding, or getting a more neater template, I would like to recommend you try out my free webhosting.

It's free, instant, no ads.

www.mgsolids.com/webhost

I hope I can be of somewhat help to you.

Oh and if I didn't already say it, good luck!

But my site is dbworlds.darkuniverse.net

i know its a sub domain but its a sub-domain of my full domain NO ADS NO NOTHING i pay 20$ a month for 15.7gigs of webspace over 200 gigs of bandwidth with free increase in webspace and bandwidth by 120megs web 2gigs bandwidth each week for free i'll work on it tonight or tomorrow i need to get that tutorial by BIGADD up on there

It will feature mainly DBP but will have a DBC section too.

Its still under work.

Oh yeah i'll also put on a PHP script so people can upload there stuff using .dbp or .db extentions can someone help me with the PHP part? I got a script but dunno what to do with it e-mail me at UnderLord@darkuniverse.net if you can im not that good with PHP.

Darkbasic mad if you woulda asked me i would host your site for free with no ad's still be a sub domain but it'd be better but it'd require you knowing how to use a FTP client.

BTW very tacky you don't need all that fancy stuff to have a good website just a nice clean layout. With a easy to navigate interface and BAM! you got yourself a nice site.

look at this site for refrence to such clean layout

Your using something called a shared server, which on average, goes down more times than your own dedicated server (such as mine).

The webhost on my site is automatically setup to create accounts, however, in the future I will be having a subdomain script.

As far as FTP goes, yes I also can do that, so how it would be better I don't know....

As far as the amount of disk space and bandwidth, I have by far more than that.

I'm not looking for competition here, but I do have a number of users.

This is true i am on a shared server but in the months i'v had it hasnt gone down once maybe on the host's you have theres went down but not atm ine =) if i could afford a dedicated server i'd get one. But i can't....so i won't....

But if i had a dedicated server i'd have to have people pay a low monthly fee to help pay for it =\

my host is http://www.dreamhost.com I think what they have given me is alot better hten most companys as my research reveals most companys for 15 gigs of space and 200 gigs of bandwidth want over 45$ for it. Some even want 60$ a month but most places would rather have you pay in advance for a years service even in the long runi do end up paying more for it at the end of the year i still don't have money to pay for one full term.

o_O I didn't know you had a site, infact, i'm suprised you haven't stuck it in your sig... a dedicated server don't come cheap. If I happened to fork out the cash for one I'd be wanting to make something out of it!

@Darkbasic MAD

I don't think there's anything really wrong with you choosing freewebs as a first host as a lot of people use it for their early sites and it's a simple way of gaining experience.

You could try using google to find websites about making a good website, there should be some that tell you about laying out your pages and choosing good colour schemes etc.

It may be tempting to use the 'extras' such as music but consider the fact that this site doesn't have anything playing in the background and it is very successful. One of the problems a lot of people with their first website make is trying to cram as many moving images, sounds, mouse trails etc into their site as possible, forgetting that people visit it for the content, not to see how many fancy affects there are.

If you stick at it I'm sure you would improve over time, just search the forum for 'website' and you will find a LOT of people that started out just as you have.

Good luck.

It seems to be working fine on my side, usually the check your permissions means if the files arn't chmod, which they are....

I will however look into this for you...

I recommend trying to create the page, without a button, see if it works, then create a button.

I would like to point out to you, that the page you are editing is in fact a .php file and not a .html file, this means html codes are different from php.

Try deleteing the index.php, and create a index.html page and try and add a button.

Have any problems, feel free to contact me on my website, or email: snake@mgsolids.com

I'm taking it, you mean the update button that updates your site with the latest content...

Works fine for me...

If you don't seem to be able to update it, copy all the code inside the box, paste it in notepad, go out of that edit page, and re click on the edit page that you had trouble with, and paste the full code you copied back onto it.

I have no idea why you seem to experiance so many problems ??

Hi DarkBasic MAD, our service is free for anyone to come along and use, anyone is welcome.

However, because we do not earn money out of this service, it is barley possible for us to do this for you.

However, I can give you a free .co.uk.tt or .com.au.tt

Or if you really need a Forward domain, I do have a domain I havn't ever used, which is coolestdealz.com which is to expire (02-28-2006)
and it costs £9 per year, so I can redirect this to your site all for free, however if you want to keep the domain afterwards, you would need to pay.
