Hi,

I have just purchased a Darkmatter model pack.

Can some one tell me how to import these into FPS as entities.
There are .x files and DDS files.

Do I need to convert the DDS files into TGA files for textures?

Also, which .x files should I reference in the fpe file? There are several .x files per model. Each .x file is for a animation.

How do you reference several .x files in one fpe file for specific animations e.g mobve, attack and die.

I hope someone can help

cheers

Hi everyone,

Well I have finally got Dark Matter models in to FPS Creator V1.

Please note, if the entity is set to dynamic it will appear invisible in FPS Creator v1. So set them to static. You also set the scale parameter to around 2000.

By the way if you haven't got paintshop pro or photoshop Use IrFanView (its free) and its .dds plugin to open the model's DDS files (texture files) and save them as .tga files.

download at http://www.irfanview.com/

I am going to try and do a video tutorial for importing models into FPS Creator. Its seems a common headache for newbies like me.

However have one problem and few question.

In Darkmatter packs you get several .x files for each model. Even if I just reference one of these .x files in the FPS Creator .fpe file the model is still static.

How to you get the models to animate in FPS?
Can you reference more than one .x file in a .fpe?

Many thanks

Mark

Yeah, I cannot patent my avatar! Maybe I should copyright it, like everyone is trying to do to there games they are making ?

As far as animating. I have only figured out to have one animation going at a time. If I want it to run, or what not, i can do it. But only one.

Hi Semper,

Thanks for your reply.

How do you get the models to animate?

The objects I have imported are just static.
Perhaps you could post an example .fpe file.

cheers

Mark
