This is on behalf of my partner (buddy) that is making models for me to use in DBpro. I have no clue about 3D modeling so go easy on me.

Exporting from Lightwave to 3DS gives an error about 3DS can only use triangles. Is this absolutely nessessary or are there converters out there?

thanks,
Mike

Go to Modeler, change to Polygon mode (click on 'polygon' at the bottom left), then do a 'w'. Select the polygons that have 4 vertices by clicking on the '+' next to where it says that. Do an uppercase 'T' on your keyboard. This will turn those polygons into triangles. Do the same thing for the ones that say '>4'.
At this point you will be able to do an export to 3ds.
Hope that helps...
