Hi. I have had little success with editing FPSC models in GameSpace. So it looks like I am going to have to search down another modeling package. I was wondering what other people have used successfully to edit models (as well as the character models). Please comment on the successes and failures of various modeling packages.

Thanks,
Keith

editing models...i dont know, but blender has a good direct x exporter now, so you can MAKE models for fpsc...but the importer sucks, no animation or textures...but if you want to make models, then yea...www.blender3d.org

If you're feeling flush then I'd have a look at 3ds max 7, a nice piece of kit. Maya is also pretty good. You'll get a plugin for both if you download the August 2005 Directx SDK from Microsoft that will allow you to import/export .x files.

Am downloading it now, will let you all know how good it is.

Duncan Edwards is the one person who, even today, I really felt inferior to. I've never known anybody so gifted and strong and powerful with the presence that he had - Sir Bobby Charlton

Milkshape Question:

On the website for Milkshape, there is a file format support section. It lists DirectX export support, but not import support. Are you able to import FPSC models (in .X) for editing too or just create them from scratch? If so, which types have you been sucessful at and does this include the textures?

Thanks,
Keith
