i have binworking lately on the well known overlay bugg and have recently managed to get rid of it with simple texture editing with masks and alpha channels.
see screenie. (using tga)
but iam still working on it with getting the edges more semi transparent so you all will have to wait untill i post an tutorial about it hopefully.

ok yust keep it simple the alpha channels fixes the outline problem so use it to mark the areas to be displayed its a bit harder to get the semi transparency on the edges.
