ive looked for texture files and they all seem to be .dds files so i was wondering what can i use to edit them? ive tryed it with photoshop which is the only decent texture program i have. so which one will edit them? im on a tight budget at the moment so are there any free ones about? or just quite a cheap one for that matter

Yes there is dds converter 2.1

It can convert (jpg,png,bmp,tga,psd) to dds.
