If I see something that actually looks legit, then I'll have more respect for him. (I still won't respect him but he'll be a little bit closer...)

[edit] Hey I take all that bad stuff back. Gamedev, you're right man. You're inspiration for my new game. A remake of Super Mario in the year 25,232 and it's r0x0r!!!!11 Its gonna be cewl! Here's an in-game screenshot below. And I wrote my own language to code it too. and made 3 editors so yeah... And I'll have a demo when my dog stops burying my computer.

I like yours but it looks conspicuous. As though you oh... i dont nkow... stole the idea I had for my CounterStrike remake (the same game kinda, but with counterterrorists versus tooth plaque) to have the HUD for the game look like an XP window.



uch. (but seriously, I made that way back when he put up a shot with a gun he put into a shot of a CSHOP map complete with the light cubes showing.)


and gamedev, it doesn't seem like megaton wants a demo that's worthy of a PC Gamer demo disk. Just something u made. There's no reason not too. Since one of your screens had no text on vehicle condition, another had it small in black, and another had it larger in white, there's been atleast 3 different working versions. Just pick one and upload it. If for some reason you've faked the pictures, remember to atelast make them all seem the same (I.E. putting stuff thats supposed to look like it came from the print command in the same place perhaps and using a simpler font, or atleast the same color).

I'd like to stick up for you again but seriously, if someone came all the way over from gamedev.net just to alert the most blatantly ignorant of our community, somethings wrong.

and hows the video upload coming?

I challenge you to upload a demo in the time it takes me to make and upload one of my own.

If those are in game screenshots, stellar job, especially on the editor, but otherwise, just quit doing this stuff. Buy the book on darkbasic, learn it, make something. You could learn alot about game making in the time it takes you to fake a screenie or two. In 14 years, EA games isn't going to hire you to get your Paintshop Pro on with some renders of theirs. I'm sure people would be thrilled to help you, give you some source code, help you fix bugs, etc, if you would make a game. You've got all sorts of good ideas for games, but seriously. 60 posts already? In 2 days? You've got quite a reputation, but it could probly get better as fast as it's currently getting worse if you'd actually make something, even if it's a text based joke generator or something. A "hello world" wouldn't be bad eitehr. Come on man, put work into making or learning, not into showing off what you haven't made.

the build u used for the screenshots looks adaquet. Go ahead, post it. Or is your bandwith still sucked up by your video uploading from your open portal game.

and I am actually making a little car demo. I'll bet the source code to everything ive done in DB and c++ that I get it done and uploaded before you finish another batch of jpegs.

And your code looks suspicously like an unstable platform to base your screenshots on.

Gamedev has put effort into something, even if it is un-honorable, Westy as done nothing exept Obsess over gamedev. If you have done something westy please show. I have been working on a game. Search "Movement" in dbp forum, ect. I am just saying, Westy is horrible. Most n00bs are jokes, pranks, fun things. Unless it is in the mmorpg threads. This guy though, has no respect. @Westy, you may find that many here are against Gamedev, but there is no one with you.

I believe if people would stop flaming this thread (mostly the ANJL... I know you have valid reasons, but I'm actually interested in seeing some of Gamedevs work eventually), and more people gave him positive re-enforcement, we may just see this be finished, or at least see proof that Gamedev is actually working. I mean, not only did he post screens, a story, and plenty of information; he's even posted the code for part of the game.

I may be wrong and Gamedev may be a big fake, but it could also be that he's never gone and completed one of his games, and has more ideas than time to program. I went through the same stage, luckily before I joined the forum.

What are you good at anyways, Westy? What programming languages do you know? Are you a modeler, are you a graphic designer? You obviously don't offer criticism of any kind, just post on Gamedevs threads to insult him and piss everyone else off. If you can’t contribute something to the community, then do so. But you give flamers a bad name, as even they hate you.
