Although it probally was deleted... Conjured Solved an "Idea" for this. Which was to make an hud image that was completely black, with a "Transparent" circle in the center...

:state=0:hudreset,hudx=50,hudy=50,hudimagefine=light.tga,hudname=keydoorprompt,hudhide=1,hudmake=display,state=10
:state=10,plrdistwithin=60:hudshow=keydoorprompt,hudfadeout=keydoorprompt

As this is Conjured's Idea, it is his to do what with.

Yeah,

My idea was to actually have two Huds.
One completely dark (or filtered).
The second one the same only with a transparency in the spot of the flash light shining.
Centering a small transparency assures aim with gun.
You want it to shine where the gun's target is of course.
So, we can shoot what we see with it, if we choose.

Switch back and forth for the on / off effect.

It required placing no lights, because the darkness was in the Hud Filter (Hud #1), and not the lights.

Hud #2 was the "light" showing through in that transparency.

Yeah that was an idea for anyone to script.
It is simply a thought.
I have no claims on an idea.
Go for it!

If I could do transparencies, then we would all have a flash light by now.
Cheesey? I admit it.
Garbage? You decide.

I can't remember who suggested that I use ambience instead.
That's another Idea, but it wasn't mine.
I really can't remember who suggested it.
I thought that was worth experimenting with.
It does provide any color light you want though.
Those experiments lead to the night vision glasses.
However, that's not a direct light that we can aim.
Like a flashlight. The two Hud method is.

Its all good though.
I really dig those purple shades man.

what about taking the light marker narrow the light range 'er add something that would make it unidirectional. and then modify the FPE and FPI for the torch

My solution for a flashlight is finished.
I meant to post in this thread about my LightRay Script earlier.
The script is included in my new game "The Hunt For Osama".
I left the game "unpacked" so the users can see the scripts.
You can find it at my website...

yeah you said that in a previous post. Why pay what 9 bucks just for a single script? You should give that one to the community because it is such a hot item. just a suggestion. Though if you don't I'm not gonna knock you for it. just point me int he right direction to get create my own. (I saw your demo, well kinda saw it)

Its only $5 for the game, not the script. The script is in the game.

I explained why the picture quality was low in the thread it was in, but it gets the idea across.
