Hey, I tried to make a script so that an entity, when activated, would play a song, and when you activate it again, it would play another song, and when you activate it again, another, etc. However, I couldn't even get the first song to play. Would someone be able to make a script like this?

Yes and No,

I don't use 3dsound though, it's flakey, use Music instead.
I haven't made one using the Activated method to rotate throught the song list.

I did make a Radio script that Plays songs over and over until you hit the Enter Key.
Once you click that, then it plays the next song.
Sorta like having it on Repeat and the Enter key is the Skip button.
One track I left for Silence, so it plays nothing. (off position)

I guess I could replace the Enter Key with Activation States.
That might be better, because then you could go directly to the song you want.
The only thing is, you would need separate items or Trigger Zones to activate it.
If we use the same item by incrementing the activation, then it would scroll through like the enter key.

Give me more descriptions on what you are doing and what will be activating it and I can whip something up.
Maybe I can start building another Pack of Dynamic Items or just the Scripts by requests.

So yeah,
Whats changing its Activated State?
I mean, What action do you want the player to do that causes the song to change?

We could also use timers to automatically progress to the next song.
Each timer would need to be set according to the song's length.
So, adjusting the timers might be a pain setting it up, but then it would work great.
Then the Enter key could possible skip to a new activated state that has a new list of songs and timers.
Then it would act more like a real radio, like changing stations, like the one in GTA.
So, yes it can be done as Music.

Thanks for the reply! Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you on this
I would like the player to press the enter button to switch songs, and I was hoping to use the 3Dsound, but I guess Music will have to do.

This sounded VERY good! Almost exactly what I wanted.

.

Okay here is what I was going to say.

Quote: "
Nothing against you Sunflash, but I'm not doing Freebies anymore.
If you were a prior customer, then I would give it to you now as a token of my appreciation.
So, if you buy my Street-Pack OR Add-On, then I will give you this as a Free Bonus.
Free meaning no cost for that particular item (Radio Script).
It will still be bound by the terms of the Pack.

How's that?

Or you can wait until I release this Script as part of a Pack.
It's up to you.

I got too many complaints and not enough gratitude for my FREE stuff.
No more Freebies to anyone but paying customers.
At least they show their apppreciation.
They deserve a freebie.
Nothing Personal."

And here is what I decided to do instead.

Here is another great FREE resource offered by Conjured Entertainment.

This is FREE of cost to anyone and everyone.
It cost you nothing ... so don't knock it.

Use it how you want.
Give credits only if you want.
Its a simple script, so have fun with it.

You'll notice I created one small WAV for silence. (it's nice to have a way to shut it off)
If you can't record one then you can get a friend to, or I can post mine here too.
This script uses the great music by SCARAB.
He offers the music free here under the handle "Mr Scarab".
Search the forums for his post to find the link to his site.
Or, you could always substitute his music, but why?
I recommend using OGG because it is not Proprietary, like MP3 which has a crappy License.

Just put this file in your scriptbank\user folder.
Then, use this file as the AIMAIN for any entity you want to play it. (even a blood-splat)
Set the Entities Static Mode to NO, and you're all set.
Hold down the Enter key to scroll through the songs.
Let off when you get to the one you want.
Like I said, pretty simple.

Hey, I was playing around with your script, and I thought about several things... could you edit my script (I uploaded it) so that it displays a hud when your close enough to use the entity? And would you by any chance be able to make it so that when the eintity that uses the Radio.fpe file is destroyed, the music stops?
Thanks for your help,
