Does anyone know if it is possible to control the way Direct x diplays objects?

The default look gives you a GRADIENTED shaded/lit surface. Even without spotlights, just the sun.

Im after a flat render. One that gives a completely flat colour to each side but still reacts to the light depending on the surface orientation.
Basically, without the gradient.

I do know that Direct x IS capable of this without doing anything like toon shading.

Any ideas?

There are some new commands in DBPro for handling this (look under Basic3D - Shader commands, particularly 'CONVERT OBJECT FVF'), there is very little info in the manual on using them but if you have the MS Direct X 8 developers library you may be able to work out what to do.
I am still getting to grips with FVF (Flexible Vector Format) and adjusting an objects properties, apart from switching on & off a few flags, is currently beyond me.
What I`d really like to do is get enough control of the object to write an object editor.
