I created a 3D model for my new weapon and imported it into FPSC.
I can see it in in the game but it is only partially textured.

See this screenshot:
http://www.donfinner.com/shadowassassin1.bmp

--------------------------------------------
Here is the code that I used for the FPE file:

;Header

desc = shadowassassin

;AI
aiinit = appear2.fpi
aimain = weaponglow.fpi
aidestroy = disappear2.fpi

;Spawn
spawnmax = 1
spawndelay = 3000
spawnqty = 1

;Itemproperties
defaultstatic = 0
materialindex = 3
collisionmode = 0
debrisshape = 0
explodable = 0

;Orientation
model = shadowassassin.X
scale = 100
rotx = 0
texturepath = camo1.tga
textured = scifi\shadowassassin\
reducetexture = -1
transparency = 1
isimmobile = 1

;Identity Details
isweapon = shadowassassin.X
quantity = 1
speed = 100

;Decals
decalmax = 1
decal0 = glowzone

-------------------------------------------------------

What can I do to get the entire thing textured properly?

Does your model have more than one material zone? This can cause texturing problems.

Im afraid that now there is not texture at all on the model in the game. Nice try though. What is a material zone and if that is the issue how do I solve it. Is there a way save the model from 3D Canvas so that it has just one material zone. I need details please as I have never done this sort of thing before.

Sorry, I don't know anything about 3D Canvas. Could you upload the .x file for me to have a look at? I should be able to tell if there's a problem.

An alternative would be to install Milkshape 3D.

Load the .x file (Tools menu, DirectX Mesh Tools), then click on the materials tab for a list of material zones.

I had a look in Milkshape 3D and the model had three groups and three material zones. To be honest, I'm not certain if it's multiple groups of multiple materials that FPSC has a problem with (could be both), so I reduced both to one. Seems to work okay now.
