We've just opened our first PlayBasic remake (of course) competition. The aim is not only to remake any 8 or 16bit title you like, but to expand it above and beyond it's original concept. So we are not interested in pixel perfect remakes here, rather we want to see some new spins on these classic titles.

Note: The FAQ is a very early revision, it'll be updated over the next few days, but for now it does cover the basics

Nice idea UW, I may even enter if I get the time .

Kamaki, PlayBasic is UWDesigns own programming language, that's why it's only for PlayBasic. The command syntax is very similar to DB's though, DB'ers should be able to learn PB very quickly.

Update//

Were probably going to push the deadline back a few weeks. Mainly as i have real like work commitments at the end of Jan. It'll most likely end up around the 14th of Feb. Perhaps later.

Which will give users (and me) a bit of extra breathing time.

I just gave the playbasic demo a try. Wow, it's really nice. I like it a bunch. I'll probably get it tomorrow.

My only complaint is that it changes my desktop resolution and screws up my icons.

Well, that's windows job. I pretty much always use a windowed mode for testing. Then Full screen for when I'm making a release.
