You know where to find my tutorial.

Hey man, dig this. (You may already know, but they might not.)

I was playing around with one of the examples in the first Tutorial listed. (Crelus)
After a little modification, I discovered something that I never knew.

If you call an animated state, and then call another animated state before you finish the first...
If you call the first one again, it doesn't start over at the first frame, but where you left it.

This can make it easy to set any one enemy into slow-motion.

Set this code as a Character's AIMAIN and then walk up to him.



I don't understand that ALWAYS thing.
If it is ALWAYS in state=50 then how does it ever enter another state?

...and when did the timer get started the first time?
After the timer was greater than 1000, but how did it get to 1000 if it was never started?

Actually Conjured, there has been so many tuts I forget what they were about.

always is a worthless CONDITION
it just means ::

and everytime the script RUNS, the first thing that will happen is state=50

As for timer... I probally should have guessed that. TimerStart is incorrect, it actually just resets the timer to the global timer... and... Lee what the F are you doing?

More source for CB I guess.... I am not writting that one because it is easy enough for him.


Okay, here is what looks like is happening... there is only 1 timer. And that timer is not separate for entitys... that is why we have some script bugs.

lozza, in the 'main'.

But first, did you save it as jetpack.fpi in
c:\program files\the game creators\fps creator\script bank\user\
Next, you right click the enemy and select the 'main' field, then click the three dots.
Now navigate to the location of jetpack.fpi

All you do to the Win Zone is rename it to..
MyWinZone

Here are the step by step instructions....

(1) Add the following line to your Zombie's FPE file under Identity details....
ifused = counter
(2) Delete the Zombie's .dbo & .bin files (ONLY if you have the X file for it though)
(3) Open your map and place a Win Zone and rename it to MyWinZone. (I don't like spaces in the FPIs)
(4) Place a blood-splat overlay entity and rename it counter.
(5) Set the counter's STATICMODE to NO
(6) Set the counter's AIMAIN to the script I gave you .... (name it whatever, I call in counter.fpi)



(7) Set your Zombie's DESTROY script to destroyandactivate.fpi
(8) Now place copies of your Zombie and the settings will be already set.
Make sure there are more Zombies than your counter is set for. (less than ten in this case results in no end)
