How to do "transparent map(like hair)" and"specular map" in dark basic pro?

I can't find any example or demo.
perhaps I have to waiting patch 4 or patch 5?

Unfortunately there is no way to make specular map.

You can make transparent map by painting into black color all parts of bitmap that must be transparent. And then just set object transparency Object, 1. But in this case object will look awful because color that isn't exactly rgb(0,0,0) for example rgb(5,5,5) will be painted automaticaly into backdrop color.

So we have to waiting patch 4 and probably at least patch 10.

Lee!!! Think about this subject please because in all good engines transparent maps works well.

Actually you can use an opacity map (transparency map) if you save it to the alpha channel of a texture in .dds or .tga format. You will need to use set object transparency object, 1 to get it to show.

if you have a model which you want to know howto get these effects within Pro, then post a screenshot and i'll talk your through it

If it can't do specular map,I was wondering if it can do"high light"?
