I recently saw a trailer for the game F.E.A.R. There was a scripted in-game sequence where you approach a badly mutilated body slumped in a chair. As you approach with your flashlight the body jerks upright and starts mumbling to you, the dude was still alive. And his jaw moved as he talked.

It was a truly creepy sequence, the hair on the back of my neck stood up. So I had to try this for myself.

I modified my skeleton for the Half-Life zombie to include facial (jaw) animation. And it works big-time for this model. Still have some refining and testing to do. But this would be a great addition for certain enemies like monsters, mummies, or zombies.

Not quite sure what you mean. There's no script involved here. Getting the mouth to move required creating 2 more bones to span the jaw area, then I hand-keyed the animation for the opening and closing movement of the mouth.

Now getting this into FPSC will require me to export the model again with the new skeleton and animations. And a new fpe file.
