hehe, since there isn't any other thread to post this in i'll brag here...

i got to watch all 6 star wars in a row yesterday, we finished the last one at about 2:00 AM... and the best thing is, is that for the original trilogy we had the old original versions (the ones that never got "Digitally Remastered"... AKA "Digitally Ruined")

of course we took a break and midnight to toot on some little horn things...

1/ I'll pass my degree with a 2-1
2/ I'll get a good job
3/ I'll scrape together the last pennies for my Civic Type-R
4/ I'll die in a horrible car crash

Personally, I think those are the most important upcoming events of 2006.

Ok, so I reckon there will be worldwide riots when the 360 v2 comes out (HiDef DVD and bigger HD apparently) and MS cock things up even more. Thousands die. Sony also drop the ball as millions accidently break their PS3 by mixing it up with the bread bin...

1) a signal will be recieved from an alien civilisation explaning how anyone can have imortality and infinite power for next to no effort

2) the computer steering the dish and decoding the signal will be running Windows NT, it will suffer a serious system crash, lose the signal and erase all the data permenantly

3) we ask the aliens to send the signal again but it will take two hundred years for them to respond due to the distances involved.

4) Bill Gates will die at the hands of a 2 billion strong lynch mob

Actually I almost bought a type R. It was that, a Supra, a scooby, or an Evo (seen the service intervals??? - and mine is every 6 months). Went for the middle ground. Can totally take you by suprise those Civics though. Initially it was better to be going around a corner at 100mph (my fave corner near here) against a Supra cos you knew what it was. Even in my car if a Civic (which I didn't recognise at the time) decides to throttle past in the inside lane when I'm not fully commited then I'm dead in the water. Even had that happen with a nutty Golf GTI (Lupo GTI should leave it dead for gods sake) on a seriously harsh slip road that I can only dare to take at 80 in my car. Golly was a toned down version of what I said at the time. And then I left him behind at the next roundabout. God I love cars....

Well, I must say, I'm partial to supras, and skylines. I'm not really a lunatic driver. At the moment I have a civic coupe LSI. It's just 1.5i, but being a honda, that means it revs high and is fairly quick. I was suprised when getting insurance quotes the other day that it's in the same insurance bracket as a 2 litre golf GTI! Must be johnboy steal factor or something. £380 with my stats for my car. Same for a golf GTI. £500 for the type-r. I dont know how much for a scooby, but I reckon £700 at least. Amazingly enough, £260 to get insured on my old mans Mazda 3 Turbo diesel. It's definitely quicker than my civic, but £120 cheaper?!?! I don't get it.

I love cars too. But never been into the johnboy factor, which means you need cash for a good car - not just some scoop you thieve off a scrap yard and blingy alloy wheels. I'm biding my time. First car Nova, second car Clio, third Car Civic Coupe .... now it's time for something fast. The Type-R got my attention because I have a new love for Honda engines and reliability ... but .... I'm open to all ideas.

Johnboy? You must mean Barryboy : [href]www.barryboys.co.uk[/href] I'm Crivens on the forum.

Quote: "I dont know how much for a scooby, but I reckon £700 at least"
Well yes. I almost had a 20 year old door to door saleman weeping the other day when he said his Barried Nova was something like £1500 to insure. Mine is about £700. Chuckle. Although you must come from Hickseville (ie. the north) for insurance quotes like that. I scoured the net at the time and Tesco was the best for me (seems to better for faster cars), but I still go above £700, and I've been driving for 15 years (I'm 32). Live near London though, and I'm a programmer by profession (apparently puts the premium up quite a bit). Worst quote was something like £2500. Thats for garaged with full 5+ years no claims. Gotta love the UK. Apparently a lot of 17 year olds don't bother as the fine is less

Oh, and I was just in Cyprus for Xmas, and the Barry element is amazingly higher than where I work in the Chavcentral town of Slough (see The Office)

Oh yeah, did you know the new civic (ugly one) will apparently have a Type-RR version? Type R will apparently be between old S-Type and Old Type-R, with Type-RR being slightly better than an old Type-R (so expect around 6 secs 0-60 instead of 6.4).

Dumbass, its 2012- not 2006 (I dont care what the bible says, I dont follow it). And thats when the North and South Poles will switch positions, causing a polar ice cap meltdown triggering the new ice age, or a possible outcome of the golden age. Riots will break lose, all living creatures will evolve. Although 40 years before the world ends Jesus and Anti-Jesus (opposite of jesus) will be reincarnated on the earth and Compared to whats gonna happen then, World War 3 will be a game of chess.

Yeah, December 23rd, 2012 is the end of the mayan calendar. And seeing how their calendar spans eons, the end of it is something super-significant. At that time, the universe will have completed one great cycle, and everything will be in alignment. Some guy told me that the first of the 12 spindles of energy eminating from the center of the universe will be focused through the Sirius system onto Earth. And take into account that psychics report that they cannot see past 2012, that they can't see anything past that date, just a blank "wall". But then again, this could all be BS, but it does make me apprehensive.

As you may know, after 2012, you won't be sitting here on the computer.
I beleive once we evolve, we will surpass human limits with ease. Telekinesis, maybe flying, (no dragon ball z sh*t though), etc.

Also, the mayans predicted hitler. You can rely on them to predict anything else.

SirFire,
What do you think about the golden age? I think its rather that then another ice age. The 'Golden Age' sounds pretty heavanly but I doubt it will be fun. Imagine what will happen to the planet- no, the entire universe- if the North and South poles switch? Chaos, my freind. Chaos. But it all depends on theory, what you beleive in.

You know, in my religion I have to pray every day. For a couple days I stopped praying, god got freaky about it. God would make squeaking sounds on my windows and when I went around and checked there was nothing there. God made me hear things, sounds that would freak me and even you out. When I started praying again, all this stuff stopped. It's amazing how God can persuade you by little things.

Predictions:
1. There will be even more 'natural' disasters - droughts, floods, tornados. And that's just England.
2. Earthships finally get built in decent numbers. Oh heck, ok - that's wishful thinking. (Look them up, cool buildings.)
3. The US leadership changes name/leader, but nothing really changes at all concerning their actions. Different day...
4. Another stockmarket crash - probably about due for one.
5. Oblivion will be released - it will be buggy, but ace. There will be a Guar mod made post-haste.
6. The DS will have a web-browser hacked into it. Nintendo will not be amused, and release their own.
7. Black will be the new black.
8. TV takes second place to internet as people's primary media outlet.
9. 'Pirate' internet television takes off, bloggers and podcasters recording their own live and streaming shows on any and all subjects on increasingly cheap and available technology. Most of it will be poo. Some of it might actually be half decent. No small amount will be X-rated.

Riiiiight--- and people believed we'd all be up in space ships and teleporting by 1980. Things don't advance as fast as you think--- in 2012 we'll still be sitting at our computers surfing the TGC site and collecting retro games.

Remember in Back to the Future II, when they went to the year 2015? They could control the weather, they had hover boards, and clothese that dried themselves. Well, its only 9 years away, and things still work the same as they did in 1985: Cars still don't fly, we can't control the weather, and we still use skateboards (as opposed to hoverboards)...
