What blending method does DBP use for ghosting?

I thought that it was just standard alpha blending (ie. altering the alpha value of the colour diffuse component). However when I was experimenting with OpenGL recently, I was playing around with the various alpha methods and I noticed that the additive blending mode looks very like the effect that DBP produces (ie. nasty and not as nice as normal alpha)

Is this what DBP does?

Ghosting is being re-written under patch 4, so it's hard to say...
