I used the dbWriteWord and dbWriteFloat function to write some integers or floats into a text file. When I open the text file in notepad, all I saw was a bunch of symbols...no integers or floats. But, when I use the dbReadWord or dbReadFloat function, I get integers and floats in my program. So, how come when I open the text file, all I see are symbols?

The dbWriteWord and dbWriteFloat functions are outputting the numbers in the binary format recognised by the computer, not text.

(tip: familiarize yourself with the hex- and binary-system,
it can or even will turn out to be very useful)
