in a little project i'm playing with right now, i need to gradually fade an object from red to transparent. if i fade the color down to black (0,0,0) , doesn't that mean that the object should get completely transparent? for me it doesn't, it just gets black but not transparent...

or does this only apply to ghosted objects?

no, it don't make it transparent
if you want that the parts black of your object are transparents, you have to set it in the command "set object"

What it will do is fade your object from red to black and then when it is black enough, it'll suddenly turn transparent. If it works the same in DBP as in DB, and you have to use the set object command like attreid said.

Why the hell'd you ask me for crying out loud!?!

Attreid:
I've set
set object transparent objNr,1
but it doesn't help...

Hamish:
it fades to rgb(0,0,0)... That could be invisible, right?

Dryll:
yes that works, but ghost object is so darn buggy at the mo... all my ghosted objects get completely invisible. is this fixed in patch 4?

NO transparency works (but awful )

if textures loads internaly then just:
load object..
set object transprency ..

otherwise:
set image colorkey 0,0,0
load image ...
load object..
texture object ..
set object transprency ..
