I Got a face from google and adjusted the levels, shadows here and there, not perfect but along the lines of how it was meant to look.
I can make a version with sharp edges if needed. We have a printer at school that can print tshirt stuff, but I dont have enough cash for the right paper/plastic/synthetic stuff.

I'll buy 50 and sell them on eBay for $10 a pop. Apart from one, which'll sell for $100 because I'll have worn it.

And I'll write signatures on them and say they have been signed by David Hasselhoff and sell em for millions, and then turns out I use my own signature by mistake and laugh at the expense of the idiot who fell for it...Yes....the only flaw in the plan is, who would want to buy a David Hasselhoff T-shirt, wouldn't it devalue it?

thanks bear

I was actually looking at setting up a stall next to RMITV's stall at our uni's Orientation week. Basically just have my pc out there with a basic demo of the game, then sell the shirts there and get some interest etc. it would be a good place to sell the shirts as I can have the footage done with rmitv and a game demo on display so people go oh wow rmitv does cool things, and oh wow this game is cool lets by a cool looking shirt! thing is the stall day is march 1st, so i'd need a demo by then unless maybe we can rework OIE to make it use teh syndicate models, and just walk around blowing stuff up, thats all we need as the rest of the glamour will be the video footage.

March 1st man id love to go just for that stall but i dont think my parents will drive me all the way there just for that. Maybe you can sell tshirts with my face on the front theyll sell like hotcakes.

They might also get you a severe beating from certain religious and ethnic groups and/or cults

oh sorry dude, musta interpreted this wrong:

Quote: "edit: Heh next time im at RMIT ill look for you. Ill run around shouting:"Wigget!!!! Where are you!!""

doh, was hoping someone from rmit was on these boards Oh and i've shopped around for some shirt printers. The cheapest so far is 50 shirts with dual sided prints at $14 a shirt, so to make profit i'd make it $16 (AUD) or if i supply my own shirts, $5.90 for printing ontop of shirts. so if i can find a shirt for around $5 each I can make it only like $14 (AUD)

If you're handy with an iron and have a color printer you can always make your own and keep more of the profit. Office Depot here in the states sells packages of white or black transfers for inkjet printers. I'm sure there's an equivalent store down under.

you might want to make the legs a bit shorter as smaller figures would suit the engine better. But otherwise that is a most awesome model dude, glad to have you back

EDIT: Music is being started by my father who was more upset than I was whilst listening to that midi. Ill upload it when im done, you will surely like it

Supremacy, I created the original weapon models with the center of the pistol grip set at 0,0,0. The idea being that if there is a bone/limb ending in the character's palm/fist, the programmer will be able to attach a weapon to that point. Are your models going to be designed with that in mind?

Boy howdy, that's a good texturing job. I really need to learn more about making my own weapon textures. [The Uzi was a fluke. The rest are too cartoonish.] Time to do some research.

oddmind, by upset by the music, I assume you mean the tune is awesome but it could be so much better with clearer sound that midi's just do not provide? cause if you be dissin' the syndicate tune i'd be disinclined to acquiesce to your request..... means NO. But go ahead and make some tunes, I wouldn't mind giving them a test

Hey i hacked into his computer through our network and retireved this. Its still in its early stages, and alot of things dont match up but thats easily fixable. I also told him that to stay in the style of syndicate he might want to change the piano part to an organ like in the midi. Tell me what you think .

wow, your dad has the skillz. But it came off more of a fantasy adventure tune, not dark cyberpunk. The end bit got closer with a more ff7 midgar tune, but still not dark enough, Maybe changing from piano to organ could work. Though ask him if he could actually redo the theme tune from syndicate, and as horrible as the random beep bit sounds, it keeps a real technological/cyberpunky theme, and add more harsh tones and drum sounds, his work seemed to have softer orchestral sounds. As for in game stuff there are actualyl a few real world tracks that I'd liek to throw in in parts, like some jamiroquai songs off the dynamite album work well with the cyber theme, though they are a little bit cheerier than blowing the crap out of things and assasinating people. But for some referencce material, look for track 4 on jamiroqaui-Dynamite, the song should be called electric mistress.

i wish mine would put this money into my dang account. As for the shirts, I can make them for around $5 a shirt, which means cheap prices! btu they are 1 sided. so if you could re-work the shirt to say syndicate remastered, with a smaller under heading of corporate persuasion... etc on teh one side i'd be open to ideas.

edit: dont download this file, its a psd file that I had to upload to transferr to a computer to build a website, so hands off!

well odd's dad is gonna have a stabby mc stab at the music, but sound effects and music is still a prety empty slot, so feel free to help out there. As I recall technoish music is your forte' other than straight out awesome rts building. Also there is still room forcoding, justin will need a hand when van b releases his modified engine. pretty much feel free to do whatever media and programming wise.

Cool stuff. Well, I'll have to keep my eye on the project and see where you are in the future, as I haven't even got enough time to wipe my arse at the moment. I walk around naked because it just takes too long to put clothes on in the morning and I need to get working.

... ahem. But seriously, when all this uni stuff is out the way, if you're still in need of music/sfx etc. I'd definitely be up for lending a hand. I can't remember what the original syndicate and syndicate wars sound tracks were like, but I could definitely put something together if you havent got anyone else on the case by then.

Here's a file I've uploaded of 8 slower step tracks I was angling at game music. They're quite heavy, so would need toning down for ingame music, but let me know if you think they fit the cyberpunk vibe you're talking about. Then I'll know what you mean. Just tell me mins:secs points in the MP3 of what sounds mean cyberpunk to you, if any of them do.

they are pretty good, the second one sounds nice, the first was a little too poppy, but #'s 3 to 8,are spot on. With numbers 3, 6 and 8 being pretty much eprfect for in-game music, 6 being good to play during a demo movie of the game.

Fallout, dude, I keep forgetting how much skill you have! I mean, really, some of vibes in there make me shiver with envy. I believe it was the snip at 1:23 or so that cinched it for me... skilz man, skilz There were only a couple that didn't seem like they would fit in a game, can't remember the numbers tho'. Depends on the atmosphere I suppose, anyway, excellent stuph, and you've given me a few extra ideas too, bruhahahahaha

@Wigget - Ok mate, gotcha, and definitely got the vibe you're talking about with Cyberpunk. I check back with you later and see what's going on with your project and see if I can lend a hand.

@Hawkeye - Cheers man. It's good to know my music is appreciated by a few peeps. That tune at 1:23 was called Ninja Spirit and started life as a drum'n'bass tune, but never got very far. Btw, I noticed on your site you have some link to ClownPaint.com. Weird stuff, cos I know the guy who runs that site from racing him on Live For Speed. Small internet world. Anyway, I must not hi-jack UberWiggets thread.

no 3ds, he was modifying that source to adapt it more to our needs, to have bigger maps and more models etc. I believe he took a break from it for a competition. I'm not so sure where he is up to now. but I do have mroe actors waiting to shoot the film portions! woo, so that ill be mid march sometime. Although I have taken some test footage and edited it together with some sounds, need to throw in the muzzla flashes though.

I got the editor working on a 512x512 map, 64 times the size of the OIE maps. Once I get the new flexible file format in place I'll get the editor uploaded, dunno who is in charge of the terrain texture, but I think a grid of 16x16 tiles is plenty, gives a lot of room for detail. I'll make up a template so I can see about making it easy to texture the terrain. With a different tileset I'll have to change the auto-texturing stuff. I hate that code, never worked right in the first place. It can take a 512x512 heightmap so that's a nice way to skip a lot of painful vert editing - any volunteers to make a heightmap?.

I have a low poly dude with a basic walk anim, I'll use him as a dummy for NPC's, if we tie the path finding into the terrain texture it should be nice and easy to work out (fast too). Should be easy to have them walking around sensibly, crossing roads without being killed etc.

I'll make some dummy buildings too, so we can get a feel for scale before adding the proper structures.

I will make some terrain textures but i don't have a jiggy understanding of heightmaps to make anything groovy. Good to hear that you're back on the project van I have some actors ready for mid march to start filming, and As soon as i get a copy of after effects i can make the bullets and gunfire on the video footage. woo!

Good news.

You can use free tools like Wilbur to make height maps by the truckload. Just think of gray scale images where black is low and full white is high and that's a height map. You can build them by hand or use a number of tools. They best represent rolling terrain and cliffs, but you can use them to create flat areas with ramps and stairs between plateaus like you would find in a city.
