runtime error 1504 - display cannot be created due to unknown directX error at line 0.

I have windows XP a pentium 2.4 and 256 ram on a presario 1525 EA. please.. help

We need a little bit more information than that I'm afraid.

What graphics card do you have?
What drivers are you using and are they the latest ones?
What display mode are you trying to use?

the graphics card is a ati M6 with the lastest drivers the display mode is 1024x768 32 bits color but i tryed with 16 bits to...the strange is that i already installed before and it worked fine... and I have the same things installed..

Did this problem appear just after you updated the card's drivers?

No,I just formated and installed the windows XP and run windows update and the new drivers like before but this time nothing.. but I think that is the directX installation that is corrupted.. I will try to instal again.

Hmmm, that's a point, did this problem appear after you installed DirectX 9.0?

No it appeared before but I installed directX again and now its al ok Thanks for the feedback

I didnt understand it either... the installation was fine and no errors where reported..but.. I installed the same version in the ame language.. and.. its cool #)
