Can any DBDN members please comment.

Saw this on darkbasicplanet.net

"The DBO format in Patch 4 beta 3 has given an FPS decrease, 40FPS in some test. DBS are aware of this and say all will be fixed in later patches, functionality is the key for the next few updates."

Can anyone elaborate further on this. I sure am not going to accept worse performance in P4 in some areas (I know that P4 handles more objects better but)

When they say later patches - do they mean patches 5/6/7? - That is not acceptable unless I am misinterpreting this.
Current Project: Retro Compo. Entry.

They are already onto patch 4 beta 4 now and apparently still working on it. You can read this in the sticky thread marked "patch 4".

Specs:- 1GHZ athlon, Radeon8500, 192mb ram, winxp

The speed decrease is only within the patch 4 releases - Patch 4d is slower than Patch 4a.

This is not entirely unexpected. Adding extra functionality always comes at a cost. It is far faster than patch 3.

When they say slower, I presume they mean that the speed for say, one object on screen is less (eg: 150FPS instead of 200FPS) but the difference presumably is less noticeable with lots of objects on screen.
