I did not mean character model/media, I meant character values, as health points, gold and so on...
As far as I know, any cheat program can be outrun, if the hacker is willing to do so...
Its impossible to make a software secure, UNLESS you control it by / with a remote server.
In my opinion the only way to make a cheat-safe Online Game is to handle all crucial things by the server, and to check the messages of the client in order to detect invalid values.
If you use a peer2peer networking model, then it will be possible to for example write an own client, and change some character data, then start with your client and play the game with the modded character...
Of course.. here it is questionable whether someone really will be dedicating his time into doing this...
However, it is nicer for a player to know, that it is absolutely impossible to cheat on this game, rather than having in the back of his mind, that anyone out there could have retrieved that mighty epic sword, which took hours for you to get it, by just setting some bits in memory....
I just thought that if you address this earlier it is easier than having to take down any new hack program that is coming out with an new anti-cheat prog update...
