Prepare for a barrage of questions ...

I'm now planning on making the bulky parts of my levels in Maya, and making them .X files from there, then changing that into a BSP. After which, I shall add the .X props and such (things like trees that have box collision that i've already coded) Any special things to take into consideration in this process? How well will textures transfer over? Can I have multiple seperate meshes (and textures) in a .X file, and still have it turned to BSP? Does the .X file have to be "boxed" in, so it has no "leaks"? And does the level automatically sort "steps" from "walls" and steep slopes? Can I place .X files amongst my BSP levels (want to be able to hide those tiny details when you're not close to them) Thanks folks!
P.S. This is what the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.

Well, I had planned on using X to BSP, but the $%&#^ thing doesn't work for me ... doesn't anything in this program work? Patch 4 ... where are youuuuuu!? Anyone know what might cause an error with the converter?
