I've just ordered pro as I'm fed up with the speed of 2d in classic. Is the speed much better? I'm often using 3-4 images/sprites @ 1024 and the mouse lag is interminable. Any comments would be helpful.

2D speed is vastly improved. I'd dare say it's faster than you could find a conceivable use for.

Cheers,

Rich

i doing a 2d shooter in DB Pro

in parts of my game i got well over 50 enemy sprites on the screen + terrain + parrellex stars + enemy bullits + ship bullits + ship missiles - which all needs a lot of collision checking.
I only got a 366celeron but everything is running smo00oove with no lag (so far).

Jetpac reports over 400fps and is a primarily sprite based game with a 3d background. It was compiled under DBPro
