.zOMG!.

lol, come on guys, theres much beter DBP coders out there than me, shall i name a few?...

ok theres Batvink, VanB, Adr, Hamish McHaggis, Ric, PRGamer, IanT, Moggie100, Thothonegan, Spooky, ReD EyE.... the list is endless. Sure I can code a half decent game, but i would not say i was the best DBP coder by a LONG SHOT. All i make is games and demos, If you were to ask me to write an application, i would not know where to start. but we can always learn how to do it.

Everyone is good at a particular thing, i'm just lucky that i was into art, graphics and music before i got into games programming, that has helped me amazingly, especially with visualising the game before i have even layed down a single line of code. You also have to bear in mind that i'm an oldbie, and by the time you younger coders reach my age, you'll have left me standing in the dust

Making games is now my mission/passion in life, It's one of the most stimulating things i have ever done and i enjoy it so much that i never want to quit.

peace, Grant.

PS. evey dog has it's day

People here seem to mistake great game makers and people with a knack for visually special design with great programmers. You're one of the best game makers here I'd say, but I agree that you're not the best programmer. Your games are excellent in all categories, and all have what can only be described as a shiny feel to them.

Just thought I'd throw up my two cents on this mate. Visually very appealing, well designed and overall, very nice to look at. Quality little title chap. The attention to detail is spot on, and really gives a true feel to the environment. Good stuff.

He's one of the greatest independant game makers out there right now. I quit making games because of him!

Jeez dude get over yourself already. Just because gc's a good graphics artist doesn't mean there isn't any room left on the island... he wasn't born that way, ya know

OMG, this game is amazing.
Why the fudgesicle did you not sell it. OMG

I love the gameplay and the ship FX are superb. Nice easy menu. Few problems is when you shoot the objects at the beginning it slows down then goes back to normal. Probably just this sucky PC. Here's the specs. PS I love the usage and insertion of your particle effects, they fit perfectly.

Specs:
Intel Pentium III Processor
860 HMz, 256 Megs of Ram.

The gameplay at the beginning was flawless meaning no slowness or lag. Great game.

sorry guys,

the game is fatally flawed in places, but i ran into a few probs with my audio hardware that threw a spanner in the works for a decent compo release. fear not though, i was studying the code and realized i had made a huge fundimental mistake, mow i'm going back to the drawing board armed with a new strategy, the rewite wont take too long, due the the massive difference in the amount of code required. you learn from your mistakes and that's what i have done here, the new engine should be a magnitude more efficient than the compo one. i'll keep you all posted as to developments, i'll also be looking for people to playtest particular bits of the game for performance reports and playability.

thanks, Grant.

BTW, i'm taking a different approach for a project that i'm developing alongside subsurface, i usually use fast puters with top end graphics for dev, this will be developed on a 1.3Ghz mobile celeron M350 with an intel media chipset 9000. (not very good at all). my aim is to get a fast action game using sprites and 3d for effects onto this platform with a framerate of 60FPS and a resolution of 1024x768 in 32 bit colour. wish me luck

Yeah, 3rd sounds about right. wasn't the best game gameplay-wise, but defitely was up there, and without a dbout had the best graphics and presentation.

I was thinking the same thing! My dad came over a few months ago and took his Amiga back, so no more Blood Money for me.

Looks nice!
