Umm.. that would be lame and gay. The only photoshopping I did was crop and shrink. I have no need whatsoever to change or disguise who I am.

I can see the confusion, being that I have a us.army.mil e-mail address, I live on an American Military base in Okinawa, and I've said several times I'm proud to be an American, why someone might think I'm Japanese. And that picture might deepen the mystery...

First name Cash
Last name Curtis

Don't worry, it seems to confuse a lot of people. The military has given plenty of training certificates and awards to Curtis Cash. I think that guy has gotten a speeding ticket too.

Haha. No. Posing with a weapon, real or otherwise, is extremely... dorky And pretentious. Unless you're getting paid to do it, then it's probably because you're a bad-ass.

That's my insulin pump. Yes, I'm a sexy type 1 diabetic. That's why I'm out of the military. It doesn't even slow me down, I was just rendered non-deployable because of it. Can't get paid if you can't fight. So now, instead of jumping out of planes and carrying a *real* weapon around, I'm going to make games. My first military game will be called "Smoke Break". The object will be to avoid your Seargent so that you don't have to do any work.

It's not that bad. It doesn't change anything for me except that I can't be in the military now. But hey, it was time for me to move on. Plus, the military is paying for all of my schooling and medical. I'm taken care of.

@Epo-
Quote: "So any one that is with a weapon in a photo/picture and not getting paid for it, is consider a dork.(Of course I am talking about pictures they know there in)"

Hey man, nothing against you. I'm speaking in general. But, since you ask, I'll clarify exactly what I mean.

It depends on what you're doing. If, say, I were firing at the rifle range, and someone said "Hey, Curtis, take a picture..." I'd take a picture. That would be okay. Or, training with some type of weapon. Who cares.

However, according to Megaton...
Quote: "And you're holding the sword wrong - right hand on top, even if you're left handed."
. I wouldn't know, but that sure sounds right. It also looks like you were just playing video games in that picture, not training with any type of weapon.

So, all of that being said, it would appear that you are trying very hard to take a cool looking picture. But it's just pretending. I could pretend I'm a space captain from Jupiter, but all that would do is make me a big dork. Or, if I pretending I was a ninja and picked up my dad's sword and took a picture and didn't fix the red eye because I thought it made me look like some kind of Demon Ninja, yes, I would be a colossal dork.

Now, I don't know you, so I can't even say anything about you. But, I see that picture, and that's what I think, that's all.

@Manticore -
Quote: "I just can't get over that you acctually posed on the internet in a DRESS! For god sakes, leave the cross dressing to the gay porn sites."

It's not a dress, it's a Gi.

Gi is the uniform, the black thing is called a "hakama" and it's actually pants. Very very baggy pants.

I don't think "posing" with a weapon is that dorky. I mean sure, Epo obviously doesn't know what he's doing as he probably just watched anime/videogames, but if you're serious about what you do, then why not? I might just post a pic of me slashing noobs at MA practise if I can get it of my freind's digital camera...

There's a huge difference between watching anime and dressing up and going to martial arts practice.

Imagine if I took a picture of myself playing football. That would be just fine. But, what if I took a picture of me dressed up poorly in football gear, holding a Nerf ball. That would be stupid. That's the point.

Damn Epo, look how clean your Gi is, you haven't been on a single roof with that!.

I think this site could use that image to inspire other bedroom-ninjas to come forth and reveal their shame.
http://www.realultimatepower.net

There's nothing wrong with being a bedroom-ninja, just remember to never get your picture taken without your ninja mask, otherwise people can tell who you are and make with the ridicule. In order to find balance, you should have your picture taken with you chasing someone down the street like that (with mask), or perhaps ask some grannies to pose for a fake ninja attack - that'd rock.

That is understanable

Quote: " ....I was a ninja and picked up my dad's sword and took a picture and didn't fix the red eye because I thought it made me look like some kind of Demon Ninja, yes, I would be a colossal dork.
"

I did not clean up my eyes, because I did not feel like it.

Quote: " Epo obviously doesn't know what he's doing as he probably just watched anime/videogames"

I have not just watched Anime nor have I just played video games.
I just decided that there is no new pictures of my self, so i decided to take some.

Quote: "And you're holding the sword wrong - right hand on top, even if you're left handed. "

Under Kendo yes. Not sure about others.

Because I don't Study under Kashima Shinryu or any other organization that practices traditions for the art of the sword. Does not mean I can go out learn on my own. I been at it for quite some time. From Bokkens to Carbon blades. Did some tameshigiri and so on.

Quote: "Damn Epo, look how clean your Gi is"

Thanks lol.

Well these posts shows me at least why some pen-pals stop emailing me or any one that stops talking to me.

Been "at what" for quite some time? Legit traning under a qualified instructer or just playing around at home?

All I did was point out that your foot stance, your grip, and the fact that your tip is well above your forehead shows that you don't know what you're doing, and just posing with your weapon as Cash said. That's all.

Kind of like in those movies where you see a "hacker" on the computer typing 250 words a minute (and not using a mouse), with a little computer beep after each button press, and the hacker looks like Angelina Jolie. Any computer type would immediately know how fake and stupid that is.

Depends on the style. Has anyone ever heard of Kinitsu? That's bad-@$$ psycho killer stuff and I think they switch stances and hand poses constantly. I know three different unrelated people who've heard of it and there isn't a single website dedicated to it, which tells me it's rare and ubercool, hehe

It doesn't stop there. How many times in movies have you seen someone playing Playstation, and you hear Atari music in the background? Or better yet, they're playing playstation, and you KNOW the game they're playing based on the sounds, but all they're using are the R1/2 and L1/2 shoulder buttons and you know that the game requires other buttons to play I hate hollywood (and here I am planning my oscar wins for 2007, hehe)
