Sorry to make a thread just for this question , but i was thinking for a while what sort of external usefull software i could make for fpsc , and i have comed onto an idea , what do you think about a trainer (compatibile with all fpsc built games) in witch players who allready passed the game , or players who dont like to play by the rules , could change ammo ammount , health , and other things like that .. ?

I don't think that would be a good idea for developers. We spend lots of time creating artwork, modeling, level design, testing gameplay and scripting to create what we hope is to be a fun product people will enjoy. Having a program to simply bypass all that hard work to cheat isn't cool.

Only people I know who have cheated are kids and the dutch. Using cheats is boring as hell, why do you want to cheat?

I think that having trainers would be great for testing purposes. ESPECIALLY for developers. Half of the professional developers can't game well or at least can't get through some of the most difficult stuff - so they end up making things a tad bit easier so they can actually get through it.

I think with trainers we could get to further areas in the game without dumbing down the difficulty.

I think if someone plays the game they ought to be able to do what they want with it.We got to do what we wanted when we made it and they should have as much fun playing it.Or at least have some kind of level setting so in case someone who might take a second or two to figure out what went wrong has a chance to survive. Most of the big fps's (excluding Halo/Halo 2) have cheats.Oh,in case you think Bungie hates cheaters,Marathon has cheat codes, too. If we want to make games like the big boys do then we need to let the people who are going to play the games make the decision whether to cheat or not.If someone wants to cheat when they are playing a game it's fine by me.Unless you're online.Online cheating is wrong.
Everyone has made good points but i feel the bottom line is when I give my game to someone to play I want them to have as many choices as possible. That is just my opinion and I am not out to offend anyone.
