ive been working on my retro entry since it was announced and am comming to the end but if only has an fps 30 on an athlon 2100, 256kb ram, 64mb MX440 graphics card. Is this a problem which i should fix or will it be ok? I cant test it on other comps you see.

Will post screens and maybe a demo A.S.A.P

The primary test machine is a P4-3Ghz, 512megs RAM and a Radeon9700Pro - if you want, send me the game (email it to me) and I'll test it on this for you.

Cheers,

Rich

Hehe, I just wish I could see how some of the entries coded on lower spec machines play...

do
if upkey() then move object playerObject,10
sync
loop

shouldnt be a problem anymore. I took out the cylindrical fence posts and made the cuboids instead. Now its alot smoother and doesnt look any different. Still need a low poly tree tho

ive finished 9 levels of the game now and im debugging it before i put the next 3 in it. Is there any way i can make it work out what the lowest fps will be and make it run at that since it changes depending on where ur standing ATM and its stupid. Also does darkbasic tend to miss certain bits of code out in loops from time to time or is it my code :-s

Well Maniac,

I don't think so. Dark Basic was made in DirectX, it requires at least PII 300 and a Video Card.

Cheers.

It could run without a video card, but there won't be any 3D in 640x480(320x240 works!)

Cheers.
