Ok to answer another question I too have a full version of Milkshape3D and have been having trouble exporting non-character animations. I must be not retaining skin&bones when using the JT DirectX exporter.

No biggie. I was just making small talk. The real deal is that soon I'll be starting a thread on who's making non-character animations for FPSC. The biggest thing facing FPSC users so far in the models department is making simple animations to heavy animations not just rigging up the bones in milkshape3D but using it to make stationary
animations like for example: An old house where the shutters are flapping around and the trees and bushes are moving back and forth
with a windy sound fx and a cloudly skybox to go with it. Humm?

i find animating in milkshape real easy. make sure when your exporting your NOT in animation mode.
if so your animations will be all screwed.

@ J, you can use my website.

.rar is a type of packed file you have to unzip like a .zip file.
You can download and use WinRar for free.Rain and snow are in your entities folder when you add an entity to your game you will find it in the generic/decals section.

kk chrisb. i could really use this character model. imagine some rich, suspicious guy who is dressed in a purple business suit with a purple rim hat. i'd give you some concept art, but i cant draw peeps to save my life!

You don't have to be insane to answer my questions, but it helps

Just like anything else, it's easy once you learn it, but can be confusing compared to Milkshape for example, which has an interface similar to a lot of other applications. Download the demo first, try making a few things, and watch the gamespace video tutorials. If you find it easy, buy it, but don't take my word for it; everyone's different.

Also, after you download the demo, they'll email you deals and sales time to time (usually around holidays), which are often much less than the posted price on the site. For example, a few months ago, Truespace 5.2 was being offered for $85 I think, which is less than half of what its being sold for now. And gamespace, which is normally $300, is not only being offered right now for $200, but they will also include DarkMatter and a robot model with it!
http://www.caligari.com/gamespace/web_special200603.asp
So definetly download the demo first and try it out

yhea i was jokeing thats for wussys!

its scary ,fun, kinda funny ,sad ,horror duh and action each level has cutscenes so you know the story and what happend and when it happend the story is superb some people say.some people think its dumb cause the cast is one adult and four kids as the playabel characters.but what makes it good is the story and some people like it cause you play as kids well teens and one kid something like silent hill.

but i like im sure you would to!all thats keepin me up is finding comercial music and sound and goood boxart. if you want more info go to lucidnightmare showcase fourms its locked but you can still view it!

Lizblizz, look at the tutorial link I put in my last post. It's for gamespace but you'll hardily notice the difference.

As for limitations, you can't export many game formats from truespace, and you can't import .x files (unless you made them yourself using truspace). UV mapping is also very limited.

This was made with TrueSpace 6.6, gameSpace's big brother. I used to use gameSpace myself, but in the end I upgraded to TrueSpace 6.6.

This is TS also.... Creating the model is easy, at least for me. Doing the textures, that's the hard part, again for me. Especially because you need to map all of your texture in one to make it work in FPSC. That always takes me a long time.

nice models i like it the lil heads that talk are cool i hope its easy for modeling. the only reason i got truespace was for animation and modeling i wanted high quality models and great/relistic fmv's cause i want my game to be good and fun normaly becasue people judge like,oh that game stinks or oh yhea it has crappy graphics. i realy dont want to be disapointed all the story is great people say i do better then most game storys.

i liked the fack that it had lip synch and that it was easy i wanted to plot all fmvs perfect...i was perfering 3d canvas cause animation is extreamly easy and good but truespace had more features and better tortial

can you guy help me with the animation and functions like tell me what or not say like you need to do this to do that.
