Still working on my Mars Take-Over (working title) game and I've started to model some needed items for it. I've created a Mars Lander for a trip to Mars.

I'm also working on a Mars Exploration Vehicle, when ready I'll show some pics of it also.

Here's the Mars Lander, ready for take off.

EDIT: I've updated the pics to show the final version, see my last 2 pictures.

Pretty nice, but what kind of water pistol does player have in a first screenie? It looks a bit stupid.

Sorry guys no details yet, but once you get to know the story, I'm pretty sure it will make sense, but you'll have to wait for it a while longer.

I've made a lot of progress on the game. All of the levels are ready, most of the models are. I'm just working on some details and scene refinements of the game, but that seems to take the longest.

Here's the Mars Exploration Vehicle. Textures may not be final (on both the MEV and ML), I'm not sure yet.

Thanks! I'm terrible at creating one complete texture/skin for a model as FPSC really requires. I'm always having problems with the right uv projection and stuff, but I'm starting to get the hang of it.

I do want the game to look as best as possible, so the redoing of the models was a neccessity.

I think on the vehicle, the metal parts that hold the front tire on might look better if the uv is rotated 90 degrees... so the grain of the metal texture is going lengthwise... It actually looks pretty ok now, but I'd play with it a little bit. I like how things are nice and rounded. curvy almost 50s scifi style. Good work.

I love screenshots when people use their own media.

One gets bored with "My new game called _____" with square rooms and stock media.

Here's a loading screen teaser..... 4 different loading screens in one image. The loading screens tell part of the game story also. In the game there will a text like loading now and a progress bar on it.

All loading screens have been created in TrueSpace, except the fourth one it's an edited screenshot from the game.

The third scene, where Aiko gets captured, took the most work. I had re-animate the Androids and Aiko completely to get them working well in TrueSpace, but I think the result is well worth it.

Looks Good! You mind if I steal the pics and start a new thread titled 'look at my 1337 game!' jk.

Just as a note by the idiocies of an perfectionist, shouldn't the 'Lander' have scrounge marks due to re-entry?

And have everyone telling me I stole the game from you
Once I've done the screenshots of the final make-over, I'll start a new thread myself I've done all of the levels by now, just working on the loading screens and such.

All the levels of the game itself are ready. When I'm going to play the final version, I may come across some small thing I may change, but all of that will be minor.

I'm now working on the loading screens, menus and such, but this weekend I'll doubt I'll get much done and Monday it's a holiday here, so I'm afraid work on it will continue on Tuesday again. Also I doubt I get much done tonight, I'm tired and I'm going to watch King Kong in a minute. Perhaps after that I'll do another screen.

I'm really hoping to get it all done before next weekend, then I'll post the complete storyline and screenshots. If I make that, I'm not sure, the 3rd screen (where Aiko gets captured) took over 3 hours to complete. Since TrueSpace 6.6 has a real problem with importing DirectX models, I had to convert the models to a different format and because of that loosing all of the animation and bones info. I had to re-bone and then animate the models to get them in the desired position and that takes time.

As for the demo and the release of the game, I have not set a release date yet. That all depends on how the game will be released, details on that will come in due time.

Here are the last 3 teasers before I release final details of the game.

I need to do 3 more loading screens, update some enemy behaviour in a number of levels and them work on the title, game over and game won screens and then I'm finally done.

First teaser: In-game screenshot.

I'm pretty sure this post was intended for Natflash Games' The Undead thread.

isn't it obvious? Like in Mel Gibson's Signs the Aliens are water soluble.

"Is man kind ready for a trip to mars?"
No, we obviously would blow the hell out of anything that is there for the gold underneath the martian surface.

Thanks for all of the replies.

The game is done, 14 levels in total. At the moment is still being tested to get all of the mistakes and bugs out of it. But until now the work progresses well.

I do hope to share some more info on the game soon, but I do need to wait for a couple of people to get back to me before I can show the final result.

All of the levels are ready. I only need to change some things on the main intro background. Once that's done I'm going to create a loader and then I'm done.

Having said that, there are a number of other factors (beyond my control) that determine the release date, but you can expect more news soon.

Just to add it to it..... I would have had the game reasy sooner, but on Friday I decided to improve most of the enemy scripts. They're more aggressive and smarter now. Also this afternoon I changed a level in which you see the Humvee that comes with Model Pack #1. It just didn't suit the game, so I created a Mech instead. Looks much better for this game, see picture.
