The game looks very very nice.

Do you know when a demo or beta would be ready?

The game looks good.

Hopefully it plays as good as it looks.

Questions:

1. Do you have sliding collision?
2. What is that yellow thing on bottom right?

Cheers.

What computer do you have?

21 FPS is kinda slow.

Was it compiled under Patch 4?

Cheers.

I have to say I am impressed. However did the screen shots have to be so big?
Did you compile your levels using cartography shop?

The screen shots were taken on Glenns computer so maybe he
will be able to awnser that question for you yea the fps is
down in them shots but thats because with all the hight deatail
init plus the camera distance is set to 10000/20000 cant remember witch one Glenn said it was but on my pc with the distance set to 8000 on my pc i get about 60 fps.

it is also compilled in patch 4

my pc specs are

pent 4 1.6ghz
256 mb sd 133 ram
40 gb hd
15 gb hd
win 98 se
128 rage pro grafix card
16xdvd rom

yea Glenn forgot to resize them lol the terrain system was created specialy
for STB witch uses only 1 texture so no tileing so its very smooth
CShop i think was used for some parts but i cant be shore as i dont create the levels i just code.

but to be honust the days of the bedroom coder are
numberd i doubt that we could the kind of income from
the game to give it to any one for free unless you have a big budget you basicly not in the same league so in my own oppinioun id
say no we wont be giving it away for free to much work and developement have
gone into this nrly a year and a half with 4/5 full
rewrites of the engine just to get it to the state it is at
there is also alot of work to do it would be a shame after everything
that has been done for us to give it away for free.

Wow, I was only offline for a few hours:

Thanks for all your comments:

Eponick: The game itself will be shareware with a time limited demo avaliable. However, it will certainly be cheap. I'm thinking about 10GBP right now (maybe 15/20 for a boxed edition). At near the time of release we shall ask people to be beta testers and all those people will certainly get a free copy of the game.

There will also be a range of tools avaliable with the game for making your own maps which will be free downloads.

Theres a demo of a version from about 2/3 weeks ago on our website and we hope to release a new demo in the next couple of days for people to check out.

The Architect: We used CShop to make the individual buildings then built our own custom system for positioning them on a matrix.

PiratSS: My computers a 1.4Ghz 512Mb P3 with GF3. Your absolutely right about it being a little slow, as Damian said, to get a nice shot of the town I increased the viewing distance to about 20000 when the norm is about 8000. At normal distance you get a much faster FPS. At that speed its still fairly smooth. In any case, theres still plenty of optimisation to be done here so I'm pretty optimistic we can keep the FPS at a fairly high figure.

yea the particle engine is realy cool you can set everything
in realtime and get the particles exactly how you want them
with out having to check the code and alter it then recompile
when u have it how you want you can then save the settings and
then reload it into the project realy cool little toy hehe
stops me from working though.

thx for resizeing the pics Glenn

EpOnick: Email me on glenncarter@eclipsedevelopment.co.uk and I'll add you to my list of beta testers.

Raven: Cheers, I've had it compared to Turok elsewhere actually, but I think it'll be more like Morrowind, or more like what Ultima Ascension SHOULD'VE been.

Turok the original? No way. The fog distance is too far for that.

It looks very nice so far. A few more shades of 'shine' and it'll look spectacular.

Keep up the good work.
