Hi Folks,
This message is to announce the imminent release of Benge's Animated sprite pack.

The pack consists of 60 professional quality animated billboard sprites designed to enhance the realism of your games. Sprites include energy, fire, smoke and water impact and surface effects.

Also available will be 40 static sprites for use in game engines such as DBpro. I'm thinking of offering two download formats, one for FPSC which will include a couple of sound effects and one for DBpro which will contain the sprites in PNG and Avi format.

Price and availability will be confirmed this coming week I hope. For now you'll have to make do with these screenshots from FPSC.

Please post any questions, suggestions or requests you may have.

Some really nice items in this pack but I think we'd all like to see fpcs have somthing like a save. Dont get me wrong those are all fine items but really....if we cant make a game that saves whats the point in more items in an unfinished game? Just seems to me its kind of wasting your resources doing some modeling and animating. Its kinda like "get more outta these people before they give up the ghost on this". I mean if you take a car to a mechanic and he pinstripes it sure it looks nice but dose nothing for how it runs.

And I dont wanna hear about riker9 guys....it really shouldnt be on the community to fix this, and besides its not out yet so never count your chickens.

Haha, I see there are some coronas included, I guess the ones I'm making are now redundant...but that's fine with me, I'd rather buy a whole freaking pack of 'em!

This looks really nice, I'll be buying these.

Hmmmm, by looking at these I start to recognize them.... All of them seem to have been created with Particle Illusion.

Still cool though!

"Explosion4", the "flares", "hot steam", "Plasma weave" and "Teleport" were created with Particle Illusion, the others were created using 3ds Max or Photoshop or both. The hot flame and big splash animations are what I consider to be my finest hour(s) in 3ds Max.
The smoke effects were particularly difficult to nail down because of the 16 frame cap on decals. Perhaps future versions of FPSC will have the frame limit removed, or even better, a playback speed setting for decals.

Particle illusion, sweet, you discover new programs every day!

Yes having more than 16 frames and adjustable playback speed would rock.

These look really great, I'm looking forward to buying these. I love the undulating effects like the lava. Those water effects look awesome also.

@Bloodeath
I've not used PI an awful lot but try this.
action menu>save output and select the Avi format - this will output the animation to a moving image - bear in mind that the alpha channel won't be saved with this.
Alternatively you can export to a sequence of files, most video editing software will support the importing of sequenced images.

after i bought P.I. for me local company

i was like....uhm....frame by frame...hmm

then i figured light wave or particle illusion...

ive given up on PI for the past few months

but thanks ill try that

the pack looks great but can i suggest a model that hooks on to the wall and shoots electricity to another object

kind of like the teleporters

like

electric 1 and electric 2 and it shoots electricity between those 2 so it comes off as a scifi barrier
