It's been awhile since I have posted anything in this thread so I figured I would post some screenies from my game.

I kinda feel like Butter dose about this thread. Apparently I've never even looked at this thread(every post was blue). The rooms look like they have a lot of little details. In the above screens I believe I have to go with image 4 as my favorite(living room).

I guess the only thing that disappoints me about the screens is the fact I really expected a game full of Fred P. textured items. Speaking of Butter, when we see one of his models we all know who's it is. They may have an odd proportion to them but there very stylistic and we all know who made them. I guess I expected your game to be full of your work, even though simplistic, very stylized and definitely you. Some of your work I've seen I like better then others, but it's been a very consistent style. The first item I can remember you making like this was a Star Trek like grey gun, and even if it is probably 400 less layers then what I do for a weapon texture these days, it had a shaded/cartoony feel that I loved. There's an air of simplicity that I'm unable to do yet being the amateur that I am. On another forum I termed it the "Fisher Price" look(not a bad thing but meaning chunkier/more exaggerated), and was corrected to now think of it as "stylistic", as this was a term liked better.

So with saying all that, I guess my only complaint is that I'm not seeing more of that style, which is what I would have expected from your screens. I've seen the TGC bed. I've been beat to death with the TGC table and chairs.....

To put my play on an 80's phrase and a Dire Straights song- "I want My Fred P. V"(for versions)

There are a few of my models in those pictures.

The eggs cooking on the stove (and the stove),a toaster, the coffee table in the living room and the jukebox in the last pic (which is hard to see because of the lighting. For some reason, the pics show up a little darker than they actually are in the game).
There are a few more of my models in the game and I plan on using more of them as I continue working on them.
Hopefully I can make more models for the game as time goes along.
If it makes you feel any better I get sick at looking at some of the stock stuff as well.
I appreciate your feedback and I hope to keep adding more of my twisted stuff as my game keeps developing.

Pretty damn cool-looking stuff you've got, man. Keep it up!

Yeah im with loc the living room looks the best of the images u show, think the rooms look a bit on the large side and the kitchen seems very spaced out(but this can be the angle of the image).

Nice, I don't like the textures though but I suppose you will change them.

No Nigezu, I don't think he will.
Fred has a very consistant style regaurdless of how you feel about the look. I personaly think he should redo all the textures he uses in this fashion. I think with the right characters this could be a very interesting game.

I mean telling Fred to change his textures is like telling Lon, black and white sucks...........IMO.

Sorry if I sounded harsh. If you (Fred) will change wall textures to abide by the same cartoony style, then it will look good. Of course I understand that you was only showing models in those screenies, but if you change wall textures also, then it will be really impressive and unique style.

The screenies with the lighting are better than the others
duhh...
But in the living room when you see that light effect coming out of the window.
You need to put 2 or 3 together so it will get a 3d feeling.
Like there is really shining light out of the window.
And add a little more details like in a real house...
Fill your rooms up so it will give a more good feeling.
But dont over do or else you have the problem with the frame rate.
Well it looks good but i think you can improve it.

Therapy has taught me that nothing is my fault.

I've liked all the screnies from everyone so far but I think that the walls for all need to be more textured when there is light. Dark screenshots and rooms are very good-looking but the ones with a lot of lights seem, well, not so good.

The snow is a decal.
I think you can find it on http://www.FPSFree.com.
It think that's the link to xplosys' site.
I think you can find the rain/snow segment/decal.

Edit:I just checked and that's where you can get them from.

When I first started posting in this thread I was new to 3D game developing and didn't know anything.
As you looked through this thread you no doubt noticed the difference between the early work and the later stuff.
I take no offense. Those pics did suck. And not everybody likes everything I do.

Fred I really like the screenshots. I love the look of the teal room. All the textures and models in there fit really well.

Not sure how well I liked the gravel floor in those one ss though. You go from a very stylized look of the teal room/tunnel to something photo realistic.

Just my opinion bro

Good luck

The chainsaw is from the industry pack.I think you can find it in the models and media forum.
If you are referring to the sewer pipe that the player is inside of I took the curved wall mesh in Signs, opened it up in Milkshape,
waved my magic wand and...
I am going to use that in my game but I can't release the model.

Fred...you really have come a long way with your media!! Those last 3 screenshots really are good! You surely have a nice eye with your texturing now

Have you made the chainsaw and the motor lie thingy segments?? Cause I think the black parts are getting invisible there. You might want to change that.

Great work though!!

The Ceiling is great, you can almost feel the structure of the material.

Is the Aquarium with a still pic texture or an animated solution ?!

It`s not a bug, it`s a feature

Nice stuff fred. This is a truly progressive thread. With some of the most recent stuff looking really excellent.

Just a few things. The industry pack DOESN'T contain a chainsaw. It was made separately... I can't remember where, but I have the industry pack, and it's not in there.

also

Just bear in mind it can't import animations.

My bad.Maybe that is just the folder I put the chainsaw in.I'm almost sure I got it off of the models and media forum somewhere.
The texture on the fish tank is not animated as FPSC does not support animated textures.
You can find the fish tank here.
Keep in mind that the models on this site are not FPSC ready and that you do need to contact the site for permission to use the models in your game which they will gladly give you as long as you give them the proper credit.
