cant get my bsp dark so I cant get any atmosphere . Strangley my .x version DOES react to light. I can get it really really dark. Any solusion to this? Hope I dont have to UV texture it with dark colours to simulate darkness.

hmmm if I put

set ambient light 10
color ambient light 10
hide light 0
color light 0,10,10,10

in a .x example it goes dark with the lights highlighting the model. But if I put the same into a program with LOAD BSP, ambient dosent work. Is this the way its supposed to be, a bug, or my machine?

thanks alot

I would guess a bug or your machine. If this is the way the DBPro team tried to make it, then I can't think of a reason why. It does seem kind of stupid for ambient light to not affect it, unless something in your code or the BSP tells it not to. Try BSPs from other places, eg examples, and see if they act the same.

Do you know if you are loading a BSP written in Halflife format and did you install all patches (including the one you have to download)? The patch corrects this normally. You will need your BSP lightmaps to be the lighting you actually want because you cannot use DarkBasic lighting with a BSP. Kinda sucks.
