Fair enough, MaxRealms.

I am looking forward to the release. I have to ask something though. Are any of your cutscenes in-engine? Because I've had to go through masses of trouble dividing each level of my project into episodes because it relies heavily on cutscenes, and FPSC has the all-to-famous cutscene bug where you can't have more than one level in an exe if you have cutscenes in both.

As far as the multi-posting goes, though, I do have to say that it is appriciated when you use the Edit button as it doesn't clog up the forum server.

Just a few and at the beginning of the levels. The "Player Start" icon sits inside a story box to start the avi.

I did manage to get 2 storys to work with one at the beginning and one at the end, but the end story exits the game via crash. It would work in a game like mine, but I don't want to crash the game just to end a mission. LOL

I don't think v1 of FPSC will be able to support multiple avis per exe. Hopefully, v2 will. However, it would be *relatively* easy I suppose to have a function in the FPSC-Game.exe that calls an external file (avi, exe, jpg, etc.) via a trigger during the game. But since the released source code for DBPro evidently has issues rendering sprites, I tossed that idea.

BTW, the CD-ROM release is ready. If you go to the DarkFaction website, you can find a place to purchase via PayPal or Postal Money Order.

EDIT:

I really don't think $20 is much to ask. The $3 is for shipping/handling to anywhere in the world. BUT, I will sell the full version to the first 10 TGC forum members for $15 flat. Send me an email to order.

MaxRealms, multiple .avis per level is more than possible. Heck, I think I have about seven in one of my levels. The problem occurs when trying to have another avi (even just one) in a level after the first, in which case it crashes.

Anyway, I suppose that $20 for 40 levels could be an alright offer. That said, I would personally want a fairly detailed demo to try first, and there'd be room for a fairly large demo since you've got 40 levels to play with.

It might be possible to put multiple .avis into any level after the first but you wouldn't be able to use a story zone to do it.
There might be another way.
It's not the .avi that casuses the crash. It's the story zone.

I hope I don't get yelled at for posting in two threads. If this is wrong let me know.

Anyway, here's video from the prologue that was taken from start to finish. No editing.

Looks great, MaxRealms.

Fred, while that is true I'm fairly sure that the "video" command doesn't work at all in any entity (savor the Story Zone), as that was the conclusion I came to after hours of arduous testing for getting it to work in Project Luna .

I just updated the game engine to 1.01 and bought the new model packs. I've recently found that the downloaded games being beta tested were corrupted, thus giving the errors.

I have over 20 people locally testing DarkFaction using CD-ROM copies and nobody is having any issues.

I will update DarkFaction with the new engine and use the new models from the packs and re-test. Hopefully the game will be ready for sale next month.

Oh yeah, the new price will be $10 + $2.00 s/h to anywhere in the world.

Thanks for the support you guys have given and just to clear up a subject, I'm playing with other engines to see what I can learn. I'm loyal to FPSC and hope V2 is everything we all dream it will be.

I still would like the codes to get past that one level. I may have sent mail to the wrong adress requesting it.

Hi Tyler. Yes, I installed the FPSC-Game.exe mod with the save/load feature. But I got an issue that nobody has mentioned. I get "Error loading Schorch Buffer" whenever I try to compile.

For now, I'm sticking with V1.

I'm not sure why you're getting email errors. Are you sure you're sending it to ...@gmail.com?

You can delete it Keith. It's not relevent any more. Thanks, man. I couldn't get in touch with a mod.

It's Georgia, Tyler. My wife is from Germany, though.

I'll lock it rather than delete it, in case anyone wants to reference it later.
