Is an internal PCI ADSL modem card generally faster than a USB one ?

Speed is relative...
however USB devices use part of your Processor for speed whereas PCI modems generally are hardware driven.

Like the difference between an internal and external Dialup Modem. Generally its more sensible to use PCI where available ... but if it is a USB2 device then really theres no difference.

u can allocate memory to a nic card for better performance.

www.speedguide.net has great MTU patches if your net connection was previously a 56k connection and the MTU is set to a low setting, Xp usually has this sorted but win98/ 2k /ME etc has good patches.
