i have milkshape and i wanted to make just a simple box to try this out. nothing big. but i want to know how i convert a .ms3d to a .x file and plz simple explainations make it the easiest on me. nothing with big terminology most "programmers or artists" would be expected to know. but any help is greatly appreciated thnx

I also want to make .x files, I have 3d programs that can make animated 3d files, are there any converters that can convert that kind of files to x files, so that you can type "play object" in darkbasic and the animation will be played, that would be useful the converter 3ds to x is not good enough becuase 3ds files cannot have animations.
I don't know much about 3d modelling but I have a friend that can help me, but he hasn't heard about ".x"

i'd be wary of having people help who haven't heard of major formats suchas x/xof (directx)

if you could say which 3D programs you have i could explain howto export

save all your files as .3ds

if you've got db1, check this link..

Well Poser is a program where you can make animation objects, I thought I could use that, how will I make it to x(directx) ?

that aside, if i remember in poser it will export hierachy animation just fine ...
File -> Export -> DirectX (*.x)

The options are also pretty simple to understand, i think thats right for Poser5 atleast ... i mean don't use the program at all really other than to try out - very little creation control didn't sit well with me.
