I'm from the UK so I guess I'm out of the race.
How come you don't want it anymore Deano?... you upgraded to a more advanced language or are you just not using it anymore?
Good luck to whoever gets it, maybe you should organise some kind of darkbasic developing competition, set some specific rules and the winner gets the DBpro.

"darkbasic developing competition",That's is a really good idea.

The reason for giving it away, is that for the last couple of years I've turned my attention to robotics. So, with dbpro, I just have to many hobbies and nothing gets done.

Why not get everyone to play a DB game, see who can get the best score?

If I had a spare DBPro, I'd make it a prize in a high-score compo of one of my games.

My advice is to choose someone that can prove that they are pretty serious about game development/game development through DarkBASIC. In other words, who can get the best abuse out of this offer.

Ideas on how this can be proven: Previous works, etc.

Now, I know some of the people that requested this deal are relatively new here. Could they get a good abuse out of this? Sure. But how would you feel taking your chances with someone that is so new to programming that you are unsure if they'll ever be able to develop an awesome title? Well, I don't know about you, but I would feel like I might've wasted my money.

I for one know that if Kevin16 or I got it, some awesome stuff might happen.

If that doesn't sound good enough, maybe you can have a bidding.

common people are walking in line.

After much thought I have a "very simple contest", in mind. It requires no more skill than a simple guess. More details very soon. I scrubbed the idea of a programming contest because, I don't want this to turn in to a big headache. As far as me being the judge on who's the most,"serious", about programming, I don't want to have to think that much.

My very simple contest

---------------------------------------

I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 100. All, you need to do is guess the number and the closest guess without going over will be crowned the winner. Simple right, I know too simple, But it's the fairest, easiest, “headache free”, way I can think of.

So here are the rules:

1.You must live in the united states.
2.You can not already own DarkBasic Professional.
3.You can only guess once.
4.You can not use a number already taken.
5.And your post must remain unedited.*

*Mainly because this is a ,“very simple contest”, and I don't want any headaches with people changing there guesses. If you do feel the need to change your guess. You must delete your first guess and submit a new one. Only unedited post will be excepted.

Your post should look something like this:

My guess is xxx

The contest will begin the moment this is posted and end Friday August 4, 8pm Eastern time.
The winner will be picked from all unedited post and the closest without going over will receive a free Dark Basic Pro CD in it's case (with just a small amount of wear).

GOOD LUCK.

CLUE 1. The magic number is twice my age.
CLUE 1 ½. It is an even number (basic arithmetic)
CLUE 2. I was born before 1985

Kevin, I hope you win this.
I just wanted to let you know that DEANO said it was twice his age, and that he was born before 1985. This means that the lowest possible answer is 42.
