Hello world !

I'm thinking that it can be a great thing if a new Dark Matter pack is done, and not with 3d but with 2d animated sprites inside.

If the dbteam do that, I can work totaly freely to draw tiles for platform games and some objects. (i'm not a professional for pixel art but i can do my best. See some examples on my website)

The only thing i can't do is characters.

Yes, I agree. It would be nice to have some sprites already made that I can use in quick games, or tests.

Cocacola and Pepsi aren't that differnt. Deal with it.

It already exists ... it just isn't called DarkMATTER.
It's called the Animated Sprite Pack created by Simon Benge. Despite the name there is also a good selection of static sprites aswell.
I bought it shortly after release and I am very impressed by the quality of work.
Definately recommended!

I think it's a very usefull pack, i'll buy it the next month.

But there's not sprites pack with characters and others stuffs for the game makers witch do not draw well.

I think there is a solution :
It is perhaps possible to render the 3d animated models of dark matter in 3 views (front, top and 3d iso), make animstrip with it, and cell it as a "2d dark matter". The sprite pack you shown me and the sprite pack i imagine can be complementary.

I've joined a rendered 3d object that i've done in the passed to show that.

Sorry to make a double-post but i've done a freeware witch can be used to render 3d animated object in profile views, top views and the 8 isometrics views. It's better than my old IsoView...

So, if the dbteam want to make a 2d darkmatter, they can use my freeware to render the sprites.
I've called it "AnimStrip XRender"...
It don't make really animstrips but it makes images of the same size and well positionned to be used as sprites, or to be added together on an animstrip...
