2D All the way! / Can't think of the angle

What do you call that angle in a 2D game where you see the charecters in such a way that it looks 3D like your going along the Z axis, but it is actually going along the y axis. here is a picture of a game like that,

Cocacola and Pepsi aren't that differnt. Deal with it.

You call it whatever you'd like to call it. I'd say it's Z axis, and when one jumps and reachs a higher platform, you move in a pseudo Y axis.

Do you mean Isometric? Viewing the characters and world at roughly 30-45 Deg

i think isometric is when the sprite are moving diagnel. what i mean is when the camera follows the sprite as it moves along the y axis in a certain angle, so it looks like it is going along the Z axis.

45 degrees, though usually 30 degrees from the ground is what people like to stick to. It gives more of a 3D feel.

Your signature has been erased by a mod because it's larger than 600x120...

Isometric is 30 degree's, like a rhombus shaped tile.

Auxiliary is similar, but 45 degree's, like the most recent 2D Ultima games.

That view, doesn't really have a name as far as I know, I refer to it as RPG style, because it's used so often in 2D RPG's.
