I only watch two TV shows, and no more (don't have the time). But I absolutely love CSI (Las Vegas) and Dragon's Den.

I primarily watch HBO (The Sopranos, Deadwood, Entourage, Rome, Extras, The Wire), BBC America (Life on Mars, The Office), Adult Swim (Family Guy, Robot Chicken), and a bunch of documentary shows on History Channel, Discovery, and National Geographic. And Cheap Seats on ESPN Classic is flippin' hilarious, too I don't watch TV that often, but when I do, it's one of the afforementioned shows.

Dragons Den is a good watch. Lost is awesome, but season 2 will end on tuesday. Also, That Mitchell and Webb Look (Tuesdays 9:30pm BBC2) is pretty damn good. THAT'S NUMBERWANG! Buying their son heroin for his birthday etc. I think I pissed my pants watching that.

robot chicken
korgoth (the 1 episode that i've actually caught)
bit of a stargate fan, but the past few seasons were kinda ehhh.
History channel

Then there's the shows I buy on ebay because they're not on anymore. I just got my Freakazoid dvds Thursday. And if anyone hasn't seen yet, the Tick (not the live-action) is finally officially on dvd.

i like law 'n order, but sort of sick of it. when a show is on 24/7 i tend to get bored very quickly.

The only show I actually make an effort to watch on a regular basis though, is House.

I don't watch much TV these days, only the odd movie, but I follow Lost (waiting for season 3) and Invasion. Other than that, I watch any britcom that I can find on the box, pick the best series and then buy the DVD's to have and to hold.

I have vague plans for World Domination

Not really, a baby couldn't get some of the jokes on there. Theres enough humour in there for a mature person to find it funny and entertaining
Why do people destest it, I've known peope to hate it, then it grows on them, i guess its one of those things for you to understand before you start liking it.

Sponge Bob... Well I usually like each episode the first time I see it. After that... They get annoying fast. But yes, there is more mature humor in there, as Spongebob was targeting young teens. It's really overrated in my opinion... Really, if they made a new show called Patrick Star, it would be better, because Patrick is the best part of Sponge Bob.

I agree with everyone who thinks spongebob is dumb. I think it's just a pop culture fad, although I can't work out why that is. Certain people dig the show, which prompts other people to assume they dig the show, even if they know deep-down inside that it's designed for small children, with a few jokes intended for PARENTS who are watching the show with their children. Just about every kids show geared toward children over the age of 3 has adult-targeted jokes in the show, jokes that the kids are too young to understand, in an effort to give the parents a reason to watch TV with their kids. Heck, even Loony Toons did that in some episodes. There was some guy on History Channel talking about that, how they implement subtle adult jokes into cartoons for parents. Somehow, the jokes in spongebob riled up 14-24 year olds who shouldn't be watching cartoons at their age. But I'm willing to bet you'll find similar jokes in any cartoon... then again, the only cartoon I watch is Family Guy, so maybe I'm wrong?

PS.- Why is there a qualisys ad down below? How does this have anything to do with mocap lol

I know what you mean Matt - they did the exact same thing for Finding Nemo and all those other CG toons.

I quite like Spongebob. I don't watch it anymore, but it was good for a few wacky laughs. A person's maturity level isn't determined by the TV shows they watch, unless ofcourse you do nothing BUT watch those shows. And a person who won't admit they've watched Spongebob just because they're afraid to be giggled at by the "cool kids" is just lame.

The problem though is that all of the cool kids are watching it heck, my girlfriend is 26 years old... 26! And she has a spongebob sticker on her computer monitor. It's just, I dunno... scary how popular it is.

Shark's Tale was pretty bad too. I watched it with my little cousin and I was apalled at how much sexual innuendo there was in it, until I realized he was laughing more at the attitude than the action. I can't quite figure out what tv and movie execs gain from adding adult humor to cartoons. Neilson ratings don't count the people watching the shows, they just count households, so parents watching with their kids wouldn't seem to help them much from a business standpoint, unless maybe I'm missing something there.

Yeah, why not Patrick is supposed to represent Aristotle and Spongebob comes from one of Aquinas' theories of Natural Law and Bikini Bottom is entirely based on Plato's analogy of the cave...

No, what I mean with understanding is, that people think of Spongebob in the wrong way, some childish kids TV program, but then I guess the humour generally applies to people's personality, like The Office.

Quote: "I think it's just a pop culture fad, although I can't work out why that is."

I disagree, I genuinnely enjoy it, its funny and entertaining, so I watch it and people I know who like Spongebob, do like it, not because everyone else does, because they don't, its a Marmite situation, you either love it or hate it. But you do get it as a fad in pop culture, but that doesn't stop me from loving it.

Seems only Drew Camerons is cool here, and to an extent Steve J,

The best shows on currently(ever) are Stargate Sg1, Stargate Atlantis, Battlestar Galactica(soon), and to a lesser extent eureka, and until 24 starts airing again, then everything else sucks. period. Though we have to wait a measly 6MONTHS for the conclution to the best scifi duo ever, I'm sure I can live.

I love Deadwood, I can't stand that so many people complain about it. Yeah, there's a lot of cursing... guess what, if you went back in time to the wild west, I'm willing to bet the people you meet wouldn't exactly speak fluently in clean family-oriented language Swearengen is, in my opinion, the most vile, dispicable, and absolutely the most lovable bad guy in television history

Agreed, Swearengen is great! Funny how the viewers (myself included) like him more than Cy (owner of Luna Saloon), even though they are both just as despicable as the other.

I read that they originally tried to film some scenes using the blasphemy and vulgar language from the day, but it was more comical in that they all sounded like Yosemite Sam hehe. They made the decision to use modern explicit language because it has the same impact now as their words would have made back then.

All of the actors are just amazing--- Bullock, Sol, the doc, Jane, Wild Bill, EB Farnum, etc. etc. The rich woman (forgot her name) is actually from around the same area I grew up. How does HBO do it? It's like everything they touch turns to gold.

The widow Garett (garret/ sp?) is her name, if it's who I'm thinking of anyway. I've been wondering how HBO comes up with their stuff for ions. There shows seems to follow a pattern that's distinctly "HBO," with multiple intricately-detailed stories weaving together around a handful of plots which in turn weave together. With most shows on other networks, it's one, maybe two stories on the better ones, weaving together for one big plot. HBO adds another dimension to it, and sometimes, they add more than one. That's why we're so addicted to Tobias Beecher, Al Swearengen, Titus Pullo, Nate Fisher, Tony Soprano, and Vincent Chase, amongst about a hundred others. It seems as though every show they produce has the deepest level of plot saturation and the most character archtypes that you can possibly dream up... I love that station! I even like Arli$$ lol, some people think that show is terrible but I think it's funny if taken at face value. But they have missed a few times in the past, like with that bounty hunter reality show they tried to air... actually, I think that might be the only show they produced that didn't take off in a big way because for the life of me I can't think of any others lol.

Do yourself a favor Jeku: Buy season 1. Then get addicted. Then season 2, then 2.5, then watch season 3. By the end of that, BSG will be like crack. I have to have my fix!!! PLZZZZ!!! BSG!!

Well, my friend has about 20 DVD sets he bought in China when he was living there--- I'll have to hassle him for his BSG series. I already took his Deadwood DVDs

BTW - Deadwood is chock full of real-life historical characters. Wild Bill, Calamity Jane, Bullock, Utter, etc. They all existed.
