1. can anyone tell me how to ake an image transparent in the gimp
2. all the images i make in it seem to be to big in dark basic. meaning to make my image the size i want i need to make it only about 26 pixils. i cant make a nice enough image in 26 pixils is there a way to make a brush that is smaller then a pixil in the gimp?
3. if i cant make a smaller brush can i make my screen in dark basic more then 500 by 500 pixils?

thats all my questions if anyone could help i would be very grateful

2. As far as I know, you can't use a brush smaller than a pixel in any paint program. I don't use the gimp, but you could try drawing the images bigger and scaling them down. You can also scale them down in Dark Basic with scale sprite or stretch sprite, if you're using the images for sprites.

[edit]
3. Try using set display mode

if i autoscaled it in dark basic i had assumed it would look just as bad as if i had drawn it in 26 pixils because when i try to scale it in the gimp it looks terrible but i will try it tyvm.

IF your not sure about the gimp there is tonnes online in way of tutorials

The GIMP
Select the parts of the image you want to be visible. (Or select what you want to be transparent, and do Select?Invert.)
Do Layer?Mask?Add Layer Mask
In the dialog, set Initialize Layer Mark to 'Selection'
You can make further changes by painting directly on the layer mask. The layermask is just a grayscale image; black means fully transparent and white fully opaque.
The new mask is selected in the layer list. Before you save, click on the original layer to select it. (Otherwise, saving will only export the grayscale mask.)
When saving as TGA, the export procedure will tell you it needs to "Apply layer mask". Click 'Export'.
Another way to do is it right click on the layer and select "Add alpha channel" and use the Erase tool or Edit?Clear to erase the parts you want transparent.
