Tch! I hate it when people who become a legend on something, then suddenly try and use it to make more money...How long will 'I pity the fool' lose its effect now...

Isn't Mr. T like 80 years old?

Mr.T was born on 21 May 1952 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. That makes him 54 years old. His new show is not for the money it is for the purpose of helping people. Think of him as a mo-T-vational do'er!

Here is the plot line: '80s icon Mr. T takes on the role of motivational guru and offers up advice to fans in need of a change.

Actually, he's older than you'd like to believe, I saw a photo of him from Victorian times, did you know Blade was based on Mr T, Mr T was born half vampire, which is why he has lived for so long, I heard he met Lestat who is much older than he is...

Its a true story you know.

Is that a jewish star hes wearing? Would that make him jewish, or does he have it because he has no clue what it is, but he likes it because it adds to his bling.

I wonder what he's in debt for? That's the usual reason for retired has-beens to come out of the wood work. Anywho, I'll definately be giving this a miss, just the name of the show is enough to send me running for the hills. That and I saw a trailer, having Mr T come on my screen and tell me that fools who smell aren't good to be around, so the fool should wash... is a bit much. Espically in an age where men are become more and more femine. Just go back 30 years to the 70's, the land of boy hair, body oder, and of cause bad teeth. His show might have been useful back then, but today we by linx, aftershave, and fansy sented shampoos, oh and most of us have white teeth until at least 40.

No, I don't think Mr T is up on current events. There might be gangs roaming the streets, but by heck they are better groomed then the whole of the 60/70/80's

I'm bloody weird, and anti-social to start with. But two of my three brothers waxed themselves yes, and the other simply doesn't grow much in the first place. I help maintain balance in the world with hair down to my sholders, across my jaw, and in various other places. You might have seen me in my two most famous roles, IT in adams family, and the big foot, in bigfoot and the hendisons (not to be confused with the bigger budget version, where the bigfoot actually got his own name). I'm also cast to play the Ape Libarian in an upcoming Terry Pratchett film.

The claims to ware the chains in reference to black slavery, and the he wares gold chains because he is a slave to societies every want and wish being in the public eye. Personally I think he just likes gold, the chains are a trade mark, and he wants to make more cash. Either that or it's a good ego stroking.

Actually from what I know he gave up the chains after a bout with cancer I believe, and he now believes it a sin to wear all that gold.

I do believe he is Jewish. Or there has been that feel that he is, and not just because of that Simpson's episode.

I remember hearing some 20 years ago that he was a born-again christian and, at least way back then (when the A-Team was cool ) he gave away money to help poor kids through education or something.

Must google for the veracity of this.

I'm going to have to hire someone to assasinate him I think. That phrase is getting very, very annoying! And I can see it getting much, much worse.

Ditto, I only like it in its small load, its like corned beef, its nice with mashed potato, but too much of it just puts you off. Its a catch phrase you can throw in when having fun, but you're gonna get a whole fad of saying 'I pity the fool' soon and if anyone I know that will augment that too much will get a Rugby tackle, except Tom or Stefan, they're too good at Rugby

Look at this forum, http://www.deathlist.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=87, some guy started a thread saying Mr T was dead and all the other members went mad. Some liked him, some are just obessed about him, like Eureka Seven.

A Fool was a Kings jester, so either Mr T "Fool", doesnt know that, or he doesnt know that.

I dont even know why Ive typed this crap?

The saying
Quote: "I Pity The Fool"
came from the movie Rocky III
But according to Mr.T it originates from a blues song. Get the facts higgins

Eureka Seven, you dont even understand what I said, I wasnt going on about how he got his crap punch line, that he hugely over does, but the fact where the word fool came from and it was not from Mr T, but medieval times.

Quote: "fool (n.)
c.1275, from O.Fr. fol "madman, insane person," also an adj. meaning "mad, insane," from L. follis "bellows, leather bag," in V.L. used with a sense of "windbag, empty-headed person" (see follicle). Cf. also Skt. vatula- "insane," lit. "windy, inflated with wind."
"The word has in mod.Eng. a much stronger sense than it had at an earlier period; it has now an implication of insulting contempt which does not in the same degree belong to any of its synonyms, or to the derivative foolish." [OED] "

Seems like he is using it just fine to me.

Didn't say it wasn't especially if you look at the quote I posted saying circa 1275. Just that fool seems to have been applied to the court jesster not derived from it.

I'm starting up a new charity to help aid the sufferes of "I pitty that fool" syndrom. It's when people keep typing it in posts, and actually watch the show that they develope it. The cure is simple, the funds will be used to hire a private assasin to murder Mr T and anyone associated with the program. The fund will the retain the contract killer to hit (with a bullet) anyone who utters that offensive phrase in polite company.

So, who's going to donate the first £5?

Yeah, I'm a reformed Jew. I go to torah study on Tuesdays as a seminar for my temple's after school hebrew high school program... My last year there.

Being reformed, I would only kidnap your cat if you said that and then tried to disprove evolution as well.

And you probably are way better at speaking Hebrew than I am. I've almost entirely forgotten since my Bar Mitzvah.

Iam not sure, but in the schools ive been in, coloured students think its just fine to call people "fools", which I think is Mr T's doing. So how about we all donate £5 to have Mr T fitted with a shocker, so when he says fool, he gets shocked. It would be better than having him killed for £5 donations.

Speaking of which, since I'm not a native English speaker, I am never sure what's the "correct" way to refer to someone who is not "white"/"light pink" .

People will probably say that "oh, that shouldn't matter etc etc" and I agree, it doesn't.

But, pragmatically, if I ever have to describe someone, and there is no prejudice on my part, as people are blond/brunette/red-headed, short/tall, you should be able to say "white" and ... ?

I know it's hispanic and asian... but is it black, negro, coloured or what?

If I had said any thing else, I would have had one member moan at me for being racist or some crap. I say coloured to be safe and not cause any racial problems, so yeah, people in England still use "Coloured", but I know other people who would like to use other words.

I dunno how stuff is like over there, but here it's generally more frowned upon to say "coloured" then "black" as coloured was the word used by the white folks back in the day when black people weren't even allowed to sit on buses with everyone else.

What's wrong with saying black And if you tell me to call them African American I'll kick you, as they're not all of that descent.

Some people here are even scared of calling people East Indian, yet you can call them Indian. Why does nobody care if some people call all Asians Chinese?

Ahhh so many questions.

Same Jeku. My current GF is pissed when people call her Chinese. She is of Filipino/Korean descent, but Asians are pretty much called Chinese everywhere.

And seriously Higgins, I hope that was a joke. If you believe what tv says, then I just will laugh. Hard.

Well, my wife is Chinese and ironically, everyone thinks she's Korean

But they even did a bit of that in Lost, when Hurley kept saying "the Chinese people this, the Chinese people that" and Michael finally corrected him "Dude, they're Korean." Hehehe.

Reminds me when I was talking to half drunk guy at a party last week, he says hows its stupid there are people in America who, will look at there ancestry and label themselves as that, like African American, Italian American, German American etc. they're all just American like I'm just English, not Greek-Irish English...

And how many think Samurai come from China and Jackie Chan is Japanese?

Quote: "But I do know they like calling cops racist, I watched road wars on sky one before."

Thats just crap included to make to program interesting, although I did watch a few episodes of Cops, to see if what people said about it being racist true, when I did, all of the criminals were black or Asian...

as for the coloured/black/African American idea, I just say black, nobody is offended, its the same as saying ginger or blonde, its not labelling, but identifying, coloured can be interpreted as labelling and African American, is just silly...The black people I know, are Portuguese, African, English (Not African English) and one American (he's an idiot)

Some people do. I say black. Coloured is the stand-off-ish way of saying it, like you're trying to be PC, IMO. Personally, I think to be PC, you have to not be afraid of talking about colour. I find it funny when, in a room of 10 people, someone wants to describe the one black guy, but they feel like it'd be racist to say "the black guy" so they try and say "the big guy, with the blue shirt." Oh for christ sake, it's the black dude. Get over it. Mentioning someones skin colour isn't racist! The pakistani dude, the jap, the chinese bloke, not the black guy, the half cast guy. Who cares? It's all good. People are the race they are.

Ok, complete tangent.

Edit:
Quote: "My current GF is pissed when people call her Chinese"

My ex was chinese too. She used to get pissed off when I'd mistake a jap for a chinese person and vice versa. I now appreciate the appearance differences, but as a white person brought up in a white country, it can be hard. Koreans I see a clear difference normally. The safest bet, by far I found is "oriental". I think you just step back as far as you can until you know you're safe with the description. So if you're still have problems, say "Asian" and if you're still having problems, say "Earthling".

Steve, Iam telling the truth, its kind of hard to say they dont call people racist when they get in trouble, without sounding racist your self, but Ive heard black guys say so, when the other person has done nothing racist.

To stop all this skin colour crap, we should all be green or some thing, so we dont have to say, yeah its that jap over there, no its the big black guy, no its that arab. It'd be:

"That green guy" ..... "which one?" .... "ummmm, the one with green hair" .... "they all have green hair"

This isnt even about Mr T any more, lol.
