Well, this is my first FPS game. It probably doesn't look the best compared to some of the stuff I've seen on here but here's an outline.

You start out as a soldier going into Iraq in 2003. Your squad advances into Baghdad quickly but is ambushed. You are the only one to survive the brutal attack and now HQ has ordered you to go into an enemy bunker/underground facility alone. If you make it out alive the least you deserve is a promotion and a shiney new medal.

After your first tour in Iraq you settle down to a quiet civilian life for several years. You are sitting in your home one day when something significantly changes your life. WWIII has begun and you are forced back into war whether you like it or not...

Well that's just an intro to the story but now here are some screenies!

-Hoping to release the first short demo of my game in a few weeks!

Meh this is kind of a hypathetical type game of what could happen. I wouldn't be surprised if WWIII were to start and I am to be handed a gun instead of a diploma.

Anyway, yeah I just thought I'd mess around with theories of what could happen and put them together in a game.

Is this the third or fourth WW3 game in this board? It all started with mine (which has evolved to something else)

Looks okay, you might want to add more entities though, as those rooms look pretty blank.

@Silent Thunder & Chris: That was a cutscene from the game using The Movies.

@Airslide: I haven't been checking the showcase forum at all until today. I came up with this idea on my own a while ago but now just got to doing anything with it. WWIII seems to be a common idea. Also, there are plenty of entites to kill. I just killed them all then took the pictures.

EDIT: If anyone else happens to look at this post tell me how the level design/layout looks. This will be one of my early games and I'm still trying to improve on that area.

1. Nice idea to use The Movies for cut-scenes.
2. Well... the level seems a bit empty, at least partly, but all in all it doesn't seem to be bad. Good work.

@mr Kohlenstoff Thanks maybe I'll add more entites because I've gotten comments saying that they look empty.

@Silent Thunder it's a game where you make movies basically and I just go to "Sandbox Mode" which is like a free mode and create my own custom scenes export them then place them in a story zone in FPSC. It's a pretty good program for making cutscenes it's just very time consuming but hey what part of making a game isn't?

The Movies is a game you can buy at most stores, like Target or Wal-Mart

By the way, by entities we mean boxes, chairs, crates, desks ect, not nessasarily more enemies.

@Godrich13 thanks man! hoping to come out w/ a demo soon

@Airslide Yeah sorry I know what you meant I was just really tired when I read the post and thought it said enemies instead of entities Alright well I'll be sure to add more and if anyone else has anymore suggestions please tell me. I could use as much imput as possible being my first game and all.

Try putting an enemy behind some sandbags (from the WW2 section) and give him the crouch script as his shoot script (I think, maybe his main script, I haven't used the shoot script in so long )

Not such a bad idea. I was thinking of behind crates or something but sandbags would be really cool too Except right now I'm still working on the huge underground bunker but maybe when you finally find your way out I'll have enemies behind sandbags

I normally don't reply to the showcase posts but today I feel like doing it.

Nice tank but how about using A little light instead of relying on ambience light level.

I could try that but every time I do loading time increases dramatically.

So what if the loading takes longer it looks better and more appealing.

True true just don't want the loading time to be longer than the actual game play because then players tend to get annoyed.

Also my computer has died and I'm trying to extract ALL the data off the hardrive. If I cannot get my game data off the hardrive then I must start this project over. If I can well there will just be a big delay on the demo. I probably wont be able to get back to working on this game until atleast 10/28/06.

Well my computer is back up now but the files are scattered everywhere which causes more of a delay in the demo and progress. However, I shall be able to proceed making the game within a few days.
