I thought I'd make a new thread rather than dig up my old one (especially considering all of the images are dead anyways) as my FPSC ventures have started up again...

I remember your stuff - you've made excellent use of the WW2 media pack. I'm doing the same, though are you animating them from scratch or riging them to an FPSC skeleton then modifying them?

EDIT: By the way, are you ever going to tell us where you got those tank models ?

I'll let you know when the multiple texture issue is sorted out, as the tanks are useless without it.

With the new version of FPSC just set it to dynamic (if you don't want it to move then set immobile to YES) and have nothing in the texture feild of the FPE

Tried that - the entity is white when I build the game or test it.

Edit:I think I've got it! (I was actually editing the wrong file).

First off, I don't remember where they came from (I have to look up my paypal history), secondly - they are somewhat expensive (>$100). I'll let you know when I've found the site.

Exciting update!

Screens from my test terrain:
- Terrain shot #1
- Terrain shot #2
- Yes, it is in FPSC, this shot proves it...

Some more testing:
- Testing #4
- Testing #5
- Testing #6
- Testing #7 (make the terrain slightly darker so it doesn't look so much like old school turf)

I'm finding it difficult to link up my terrain (as I had to seperate it into 4 different segments [because of 4 different textures]). It would really be swell if a segments texture could be defined by the mesh and not by the fpe or whatever, so like dynamic entities it could have muiltple textures.

I was able to do this, just have 1 file as opposed to splitting it up, by making my terrain a dynamic entity, but I couldn't walk on it - for some reason I just hovered above the highest point in the terrain mesh.

I also wish FPSC wasn't build with different levels a must (it would be better to define how many levels you wanted your map to be), because when I try to move the lighting up, it goes to the level above due to my terrain being elevated.

Thats all for now

Thanks

I still get some lag spots here and there when walking around. Does anyone else get them? is there a solution (some segment setting in the fpe)?

Edit:

Made a quick test beach to see how that would work out...

Very Nice! Looks Good.
Keep up the good work.
I think I saw you say you wanted hands?
Maybe I might make you some. Interested?
But it might have no texture though because my paintshop pro stuffed up.
About the beach.. You should make it like a big hill with bunkers to make it look like MOHAA. It would Realy look like it.
Great work mate. All your work reminds me of Day of Defeat!

Thanks

I'm going to wait for core pack 2... I'll just use the arms/hands included in that pack.

This beach was just a test, it took about 5 mins so it's very basic. I didn't even lightmap it.

I'm going to work on a more advanced test beach terrain later tonight or tommorow.

Those don't exactly have a WW2 style, but oh-well.

By the way, how did you get the textures looking like that with the weapons, I've imported them (WW2 Media Pack) and I can't get them looking that way

Here is another test terrain/map I worked on today, "trenches."

Here is the final version of my "trenches" test terrain.

Lightmapped, textured it more, result below:

Also, I made it so that it could be "tiled" (each side can be joined up) here is my attempt - as you can see there is a small gap in the terrain, I'm sure it's just some FPE setting I have to change, but I'll look into that tomorrow.

Doughboy, Iam not sure if you know, but you can press B while in the editor to change the grid snap. So if your terrain is sized correctly, you will find it will snap into place a lot easier.

Commenting on your Thompson, which you show in all your screens, I have to say, it doesnt look too good at all. It is well too thin and much too wide.

B doesn't do anything.

Edit:
Eventually got it pieced together (had to modify the mesh' export size).

I just installed FPSC, selected an object and pressed B, it then snapped to a small grid, if you press it again it will snap to the larger grid and once more to set it back to default.

I think it could still be of better quality than it is now, as I can't seem to apply a normal map to the entity (or atleast I think it hasn't been applied).

Anyways, here is the Stug 3 with no normal map.
