When entering the October level design competition, i hit a few copyright snags with my level. I wanted to make a spy RPG or, to be precise, a James Bond level. However, this was forbidden by the rules of the competition.

So, after finishing my entry (on November 5th), i set about finishing a special 007 Edition of my entry, with new graphics, movies and sound.

This is it:

http://www.ozarkgames.com/fpscfolder/avenging_eagle_007/install.exe

The level is exactly the same as the real entry except for a few music changes.

C & C is welcome

Ok first of all this game had a very good story. I enjoyed the puzzle solving with the keys ,that was fun, and the voice acting was excellent. The custom segments were very well done.It feels like an authentic James Bond game. My only question was that during the cutscenes there is no video, it's just a black screen with sound, and i checked in the video files in the directory to check, it's black. Also i know it was 1 level but i wish their enemys, i was wating for a guard to pop out when i exited the office. I would love to see another level. I would give this game a 4 out of 5

You need to update your codecs Bob. if the screen is black you don't have the right codec.
Was the end of the game when you jump out the window?
I saw the parachute and it ended and I was in some staircase and each door went to the outside with a long drop.
Then the last door at the bottom was lock.

Download this program and at the top you can see where to browser for the video file and load it and will tell you what codec you need
http://www.headbands.com/gspot/v26x/index.html

I use this all in one pack and seems to cover most I find

also while re-playing it i found a glitch. while in the second red floor, if you jump out the main room window you will land under neather the level, look at the picture. If i were u i would make thoose windows static.

Edit: Yeah A.E., if you are going to make a second one then i would gladly work on it with you. If you are interested just send me an email.

Yes, you'll need Divx to play the movies.

When you guys respond, tell me how long it took to complete.

Thanks,
AE

The level was nice. Good story and athmosphere. Puzzles were good also. There could have been more action though. I don't know the exact time how long it took to complete but I think it took something like 10-15 minutes.

Great Work, Tanner Productions!
And question, how you made the game exe. (not with directory and file)?

I used Game Cover 2 to make the opening bit (its on the forum somewhere) and Clickteam's install creator to make the installer.

I liked it. Well put together. Nice cinematics in the begining. I think I, like others, was expecting more enemies but overall very nice.

I had planned on more enemies but the frame-rate kept dropping so i had to keep it to a minimum. Perhaps i should have made the enemies harder.

Thanks for your comments,

Yes, I have it (GC 2 Install Creator). And I download Airslides FPSC Compiler.

I try play again and I detected bug with eleveator. When I go to the elevator again, I go back to down and its end for me. You dont have some script?

I played the game.

Nice things :
1. great use of videos and cutscenes and stuff
2. Nice work on the map design and furniture layout etc.
3. very good lighting and use of default stuff.

Improvable things :
1. I had around mostly 12-20 fps in the game.
2. Players can get stuck. I died, respawned at bottom of elevator and no place to go.

-- game dev is fun...but taking up too much time --

What? You mean my content installer? Cause the installer won't let you put in your own stuff yet - you'll have to buy it (or get the Decal Maker/Content Installer Bundle) when it's done!

The EXAMPLE

AE - The game went a smooth 30-32 FPS for me. Like others, I expected more enemies - though it did take me along time to finish. It was right when I felt I was getting into it it ended. Nicely done, prehaps I can give you a script to make those security cameras spot you and then spawn guards?

Nice game, I enjoyed it! Some more enemies would be nice but it was smooth and put together quite nicely

@ Airslide: Could you stop over at my thread and leave the script for cameras spawning guards?

Thanks for your comments guys.

If i had thought about it, i would have tried your method Airslide.

Filya; i think your FPS problems are down to your computer. It runs fine on this one (2.8Ghz, 1GB RAM, Radeon X1600 pro 256mb).

Johny; you're not meant to go back to the elevator. You must find both documents (and the keys to the fire escape stairwell).

With out a doubt the best presented game I have yet played on fps creator the cut scenes were super and voice acting just great a joy to play my only complaint is that bond looked like dr Carrington from perfect dark in stead of bond but that a tiny complaint

Better than me, i came in 6th.

falling out of windows, through doors and the floor and spawning under the elevator after dying kinda ticked me off.

also did you notice that if you open the bathroom stall doors, you can just run through the walls?

other than that, nice level, took me about 20 minutes to complete.
