Yarrrr me mateys, I'll tell you a story, believe me it's true
a tale you'd best hope never happens to you old spicy mcHaggis,
how he met his fate you I can save, but for him it's too late...
Spicy had just made port in the Solomon and went a drinkin with his crew. When he woke up he was hanging upside down from a palm tree on a deserted island. Spicy said to himself, Arr me must have let me to die... He then chewed the rope off his legs and slammed to the ground. Where was he to go? Vanquish his backstabbing crew. Recover his share of the gold bars they had "liberated" the past trip. I believe this is the first FP Platform game made in FPSC with all custom media, no segments used in the final version. Here are some screenshots, leave feedback.

Edit Note: everything is green because I am in the process of texturing everything, however, I am looking into the prospect of "level themeing"

He said, "You drink when you're lonely." No I drink when I want!

Very nice. Good idea! Arrrghhh you back!

But...1 thing: it looks crappy when it's all green. Hope the texturing goes well.

Thanks guys... I'm in a realm of creativeness right now. I'm in the process of making more monsters such as palm trees that drop coconuts on you when you walk under them and more custom "segments" as well as a theatrical environment, (floating pirate ship that fires cannon balls at you etc.

I forgot to mention I already recorded some sound for the players soundset for hurt, jump, etc. It is quite funny every jump you jump he sounds like hes going to puke hehe...

At the end of every level you will fight bosses, each boss will be a member of your crew or a monster...

Here's a test shot of a cannon I made for the game. He chases you and can be set up to fire from a platform by the player. (Note to all, this is my first attempt at uv mapping, i will almost certainly improve the cannon's texture and remap it)

YES YES YES YES!

It's so fantastic to scroll down the showcase forum, and be like
zombie shooter...no
space shooter....no
army....no
war....no
zombies....no
undead....no
girlfriend eating cult....no
oh whats this....?Spicy McHaggis's Rum Adventure?

then I open it up, and see that you've been getting VERYcreative with your modelling program and FPSC. Looks surprisingly like a better version of some of my creative abortions from when I first started modelling level parts without using segments.

Stick to 100% scale any it'll all be fine, collisions and all!

I'm very excited about this, I think it looks like some serious fun.
Any help you need, it looks like UVmapping could be an issue 4u, I'll be glad to lend a hand>

peas and stick at it.

HAHAHA nope actually the first thing I did in FPSC was make a very primitive version with stock segments haha

That's what got me going through this
Nice to see people really trying different things. Thats what makes a game much for fun - uniqueness

So if I model a complete level in milshape such that I can use scale=100 in the .fpe, you mean there would be no collision problems at all?

Thanks! I'm debating whether or not to remodel some of the models so the textures show properly

No more ugly green (except for plants... I'm going to retexture tomorrow)

That's really sick for this type of game. Make a portable mini-cannon or something

Very original concept and modeling. Nice to see such an original game. Rather then over extend your modeling capabilities, you made the almost caricatureish(can that be a word?) mesh's work for you. Nicely done.

Good luck

I like the sword but i think you should make your own hand, as it looks very out of place.

the golden bit at the far end of the level reminds me of a game i used to play.

nice work and good luck

It's my computer. I hardly ever get over 31 FPS and in professional games anything over 15 is good for me.
