It seems this command as gone obsolete in DBpro dispite their's still a help on it.

So how can I apply an image to the screen and still draw 3D on it without using any texture primitives (since the decreases at distance) ?
I've tryed sprites with draw to back command and others but maybe there's something missing cause I can't do it.

Believe me.. the only reasonable way to do it is to use skyspheres/boxes.

The evil plan is now even closer!

But that's not really an option. You see this is for a menu system and not any kind of 3D world background image.

I tried and that didn't work because after pasting the image when I load a 3D object all 2D desapers. hat I want is to load a 3D object on top a 2D image without cleaning the 2D.

You have to paste the image every frame.

Well, it isn't good for frame rate, but you sort of have to do it. Besides, DBP should have to much of a problem with it.

Can anyone tell me WHY the backdrop HAS to be split into 6 sections?

If your going tu use 3d object on top of a background you should perhaps make a locked on textured object as your background then it should be ok.

m: i've got two projects where i'm pasting dozens of images per frame (some with transparency) and still holding out well above 60 fps. paste image isn't any worse than sprite and 2d in Pro is hellafast compared to DV1.

Are we sure that 'Texture Backdrop' has gone obsolete, and not just buggy?

Texture backdrop is in the manual as a discontinued command. Mamute already has some code from me to show how to get 3D ontop of 2D without using textured objects.
