Quote: "Saddam Hussein hangman game"

That's a bit tasteless isn't it? I mean, I know the guy did wrong, and did some pretty 'bad' stuff, but he's dead now, and in my opinion a game about such a topic is very sick - there's one thing to mock when someone is alive, but another altogether once they are dead

And Cheney Hunter was an upright game of honor and emitted nothing but good taste . Actually, we started working on it before Saddam was hung, right after we heard it was going to happen (couldn't pass up that opportunity), but then they executed him sooner than we thought they would and ended up with a half-finished game. I figured it would have been silly to toss it after so much work. It's actually the "follow up" to Cheney Hunter because people asked me to make one. But we're trying to make it as lighthearted as is possible with the subject matter. When we release it, if it ends up offending too many people I'll take it off the website, or maybe we'll change some of the media and put in someone else instead of him, like Bill Gates or something, I dunno, but until then, we're going ahead as planned. Anyway, that's the thing though. Adults have the option to download the game and play it, or ignore it because it offends them. I doubt any parents in their right minds would show this game to their kids, and I'd hope they'd try to keep it away from them, but how can I know whose downloading a game? It doesn't tell us a person's age in their IP address. I can only hope that kids don't find it... but unfortunately hoping won't really keep them from finding it.

No offense but Hangman isn't that fun anyways It would have to have some incredibly dark humour and different gameplay before it would be popular.

My wife had to see the headmaster this week, after we found out our 9 year old son was playing an online game at school that involved trading in drugs. The site was one of those with hundreds of Flash games, but unfortunately they are not filtered according to age suitability.

Has to be more fun than my last effort . I was feeling pretty accomplished with 2,600+ downloads of Cheney Hunter (3543 now that the website is up, woot!)... until I saw WordTrix had 40k downloads. Made me feel very tiny and insecure, lol. We have a minor twist to the plot... unlike regular hangman where you draw in portions of the victim when you get letters wrong, in this version he's already drawn, and if you miss letters he escapes. Miss four letters, and Saddam goes free, and the President has some very unkind words for you... makes it pretty hard. Plus we have seven levels of difficulty (get a word right and you go up a level) with four different words per level, so hopefully it'll have a few ounces of replay value because you're less likely to encounter the same word twice . So hopefully that'll make it more fun than typical hangman... hopefully.

In my opinion, that's just wrong. If you make a game that isn't suitable for kids, you should warn people of that. It isn't hard to put up a notice on a website that says "hey, this game isn't right for kids." It's pretty lazy imo. I think I even know the game you're talking about, and if it is that game, then it's definitely not good for kids to play. How did he find that game? Was he browsing flash games and stumbled across it, or did one of his friends tell him about it?
